I just did mine and temps are way down. They are easy to take apart. Apply some new thermal paste, it may help also. The 8800 GTS-GT have been good to me, and i overclock teh shit out of them. BUT. The 8800GTS does not OC that well but still a great card. My 8800GT has been running at 700-950 for years. I never had a vid card go bad yet. But NO JOB so I hope my old 8800 keeps on rollin. Cleaning it isnt going to help you now but try WiZiD link and for sure and I almost bet that the card will be 'dead' in a few months. You might need to check if the card has a newer BIOS to flash in, but in both cases; be careful(of course) http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1709/TechPowerUp_GPU-Z_v0.3.8.html
 Zotac is not one of them. You might want to replace the the Cooler with a Third Party Cooler do some reseacher and try to buy one on eBay for cheap since it is an older card already. Lots of coolers going around eBay these days for olders cards. I did for a 6600GT I have sitting around the card was artifacting and I replaced the cooler and till this day it still works, I use to test peoples machines to check if there VGA card is fried.
