Last week as some of you have probably heard, here in San Francisco a south Korean jet crashed at the airport and 3 people died.

A local new station in an attempt to be the first to report the pilots names called the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to confirm the names. The person they spoke with at the NTSB was an unpaid summer intern who thought they would play a little joke on the TV station and gave fake names. Well, the TV station aired the names and now the station and the NTSB are might get sued by the airline.

Here is the youtube video of the bad information on the air.

Of course, there aren't that many Americans of Asian extraction in the SF area who would be offended...

Poor taste to act like Bart Simpson after a tragedy.  Did anyone at the TV station receive any form of higher

education, I wonder?  Low IQs abound??!

Yes ,it was a tragedy and I do not take it lightly that three people died. One possibly run over after the fact by first responders. I was making light that someone in the news room could read this and actually think these were names. I guess getting the story is more important than proof reading your material. Media these days isn't about  accurate reporting, it's about ratings.

yep, its all about making the news instead of reporting the news!   (no one was laughing at the death and injuries, just the messed up report by the media, get real!)
