Two masses of cloud from over the Great Lakes and Florida will merge before crossing the

Atlantic and hitting the UK, says the Met Office.  Winds up to 85mph and a lot of rain from

Monday with a risk of disruption.  So, if it goes quiet from your Brit buddies, there may be a

power cable or two down...

I have to drive through this cr*p on Monday morning to a hospital appointment...

Well, mate, we'll see how it shapes up.  The current forecast down here has the wind speed around 60mph but, if

it gets too hairy, I am not driving anywhere in it!  FML!  I go to the hospital two to three times per year to see the

specialist and this weather comes along...

The wife has to get to/from work on a bus through the country roads so that, I fear, may be interesting!

The worst storm for five years but not quite up to "Great Storm 1987" strength hopefully.

The DeathWave residence are prepped. Gotta remind my old man Noddy to go easy on the kettle if we get power cuts lol
Hopefully by the time it reaches where I live, Kent, it SHOULD be okay and not as bad as some places.

Better make the old man some flasks, DeathWave!

Folkestone was flooded last night and the main event has not yet begun.

Dover lifeboat was out at sea too.

I don't like it when the BBC weather forecaster uses words like "quite dangerous"!

Batten down the hatches and weigh down anything that can fly.

I have a few friends out in Dover and Folkestone, hope they are okay to be honest.

We have plenty of flasks to use at home and I think we will make good use of them all! ~

"Quite dangerous?" are they trying to sugar coat it? It's best to be out with it straight and let everyone know what could happen

Best of luck out there!

Mine internet is connected to my router through wireless so if my dad loses his internet, I can certainly kiss mine goodbye for the duration of this storm. Hopefully the power might last and if it doesn't, means I can focus more on my art work and anything else I have lying around to do

Family and friends have reported large trees down and one is reported to have come down in the road

I am supposed to use to get to the hospital...

We are intact so far though St Jude has gifted us a mystery object from the sky.  It looks a bit like a hatch

cover with an air vent in it from a boat...  However, it is terracotta-coloured so may have been ripped from

a house/roof.

It's still blowing out there with some powerful gusts.

A friend was en route to Dunkerque today by ferry but the Port of Dover has been closed and services

cancelled.

Yes in Coventry it was all ok not much rain or wind at all so I guess we were lucky up here.

But glad to see all our other Idiots are ok and well.

I guess I must have missed most of it because I was sleeping! Luckily nothing bad happened over here, then again, I'm on the tip of Kent (Margate) and here it was nothing compared to a lot of places. The wind has died down dramatically here and looks to be okay to go out in

Wait.  A hatch?  Isn't that how Lost started?  :ermm:

Well for once us poor North Easterners missed most of this Storm, which makes a change because we always seem to get the shittiest weather we hardly got any wind and the floods and rain we were promised up here ain't really materialised, got some rain this morning but it is brightening up now.

It's now brightened up and the worst has passed.  The death toll in the region is now three.

Here's a picture of the St Jude mystery object.  I reckon I now know what it is - can you guess?
