Even though it is more commercial then before it's still very beautiful. I was born and raised in New York City, in NYC one is not even able to see the stars at night. Also in NYC it was hard to see a rainbow after a rain storm. Because we are City dwellers in NYC during the winter most of the time one was stuck within four walls. I could drink a few Margaritas on a beach there. How did a guy who grew up in New York City end up in Puerto Rico? I can completely understand what your saying about the stars and not seeing a rainbow in New York, I grew up in smoggy southern Calif and between the light pollution and dirty air you couldn't see very many stars and with hardly any rain no rainbows. We loved Culebra...not so touristy like Vieques, but the Bio-bay in Vieques...FRICKIN AWESOME!!!! We didn't want to leave! LOL as to how did a city kid end up in the country you did the same thing I did. Fresh air and Mountain range's where the Earth touches the Sky and driving through a cloud now that is Jaw Dropping, just to see lush green fields all year round and beautiful blue water beaches that is why I left NYC. Whats really cool is (I'm assuming here) that you don't regret the move . . .like me whereas I miss some things (favorite Taco stand, fishing holes,ect.) I am so glad I did it and at times kick myself for no doing it sooner. When the goal that you seek is so beautiful when you reach that goal happiness is following right behind you. When I met my third wife eighteen years ago LOL yes I'm a whore anyways I had told her my plan if she went along with it we could hangout if not live long and prosper. My plan was to get out NYC and move to a tropical island upon retirement which was either Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo or Cuba any of those would have worked for me. I prefer Puerto Rico cause it is a US territory which means I am still covered under US laws which sometimes makes a difference for gringos like me. I have things that I miss in NYC but they have different things here so it sort of balances out.
