Or do you? If not, don't look at the inset. It's a bit blurry because I really didn't want to get that close and it was dark out. He (she?) hides away in the heat of the day, but as this is very near my front door and its porch light, there's no shortage of moths, etc., for it to eat at night. But the web itself is rather magnificent, right? And last night, I actually did try to get a better picture of him. I had to go out the garage and up my porch steps to get into position. At that point he decided he really didn't want his picture taken, so he literally lept off the web, bungee jumping to the ground. Freaked me out. I left. little_old_man, Astronomer, L!ckALotAPus and 1 other 4 Awards

My dad passed away recently, and I took my camera with me on a drive around the lake one morning while I was home. I find the process of finding and taking an image to be very focusing and calming. Out of the blue, he sent me a Rokinon (Samyang) 10mm f2.8-f22 camera lens. It's designed for APS-C based DSLR cameras. I took a few test shots of the area of the sky that I normally shoot to capture lightning, and the amount of sky captured vs. my 18mm lens is HUGE! This lens will be incredible for landscapes, lightning, and interior shots. Here's an image I found in a review that shows the area it can cover as compared to other lenses. My 18mm lens had been my go-to for landscapes until this beastie landed on my doorstep. This one will be more challenging as it's a manual lens (vs my Canon lenses which connect into the camera's electronics), but the results and challenge will be worth it. eidolonFIRE 1 Awards
