Check out their new privacy statement. Makes them sound like the NSA. Its likely they have been doing this for awhile, but in secret as per govt directives, and must now protect themselves legally. I think I will avoid Turner sites from now on.

But sure you live in the states dont you? Your basically being monitored and tracked on nearly every webpage you visit regardless anyway. Facebook seem to be the worst in terms of privacy and stuff, since January the 1st with the new privacy terms they could basically scan your hardrive and contents and collect the information and sell it off to advertisers or big companies.

If you dont like the thought of trackers on webpages and so on then you should download ghostery.

https://www.ghostery.com/en/

Its an add on for chrome or firefox and basically it tells you how many trackers are on a webpage and you have the option to block all trackers on everypage you visit. Sure that CNN link I click on had nearly 20 trackers on it haha

I never do facebook even tho I have been asked to. I politely decline. Also block its links into other sites. I use Ghostery, adblock and the script blocker. I only enable when absolutely necessary and only those parts needed if important enough. Paranoid? Nah. Just careful and my privacy is very important.

Difference is on a PC software that scans my files and uploads data without my knowledge or uses my camera or whatever giving them full access to it is a spyware or a hack. On your cell phone, tablet... you are giving them permission to see everything just buy installing the software. Marketing for sure and could be big brother mixed.

They are going to lock the Internet down in due time. Big companies are struggling to make all the money these days. We in their eyes get too much free shit. In the near future when PC's die in popularity every electronic device you buy will have this crap installed by default.

I think the sign when the Internet gets locked down is when the support over the internet for IPV4 making IPV6 mandatory. Just a theory I had.... not saying that is fact. Just a sign if that ever happens. BTW the new WOW IP address is 3ffe:1900:4545:3:200:f8ff:fe21:67cf.

BTW I removed messenger off my phone. Thanks for this post  @@Sammy

Sorry @@X-RayXI .....  we need another chat app besides messenger for my phone. Screw Facebook!

Wow... amazing seeing all the trackers this is blocking.  Most of them I figured but there are ones that I had no idea where happening on some of my regular sites.

It seems any site with advertising is loaded with trackers.

It's very user friendly, intuitive, has advanced features like smart screen filters and compatibility view settings, it's simply amazing. Have you looked at the ActiveX plugins? They are so handy, allow you to add a bunch of SW applets that load before your browser does. This makes it easier for you to use them when you happen to stumble upon them. Mind blowing!

Yes, I almost always use incognito mode unless its websites where I don't want to enter the password over and over again, XI website for example.

I'm sure, but its still Google.

IE previously had a setting that allowed you to globally use a setting that told websites not to use certain tracking features. It was not mandatory for websites do so but ms quietly changed that anyways. Its still there but you have to do it for each website not globally. You have to ask yourselves why exactly did they do that.

Incognito only means the data normaly saved by Chrome is not saved like cookies and browsing histroy. How does that  do the same as no script, ghostery and adblock?

BTW below this is cut and past like my programming.

  Browse in private (incognito mode)

If you don’t want Google Chrome to save a record of what you visit and download, you can browse the web in incognito mode.

Open an incognito window

An incognito window looks different from a regular window. The top of an incognito window is gray or blue, depending on your computer or device.

To learn how to open an incognito window, choose your device below.

You can switch between an incognito window and any regular windows you have open. You'll only be in incognito mode when you're using the incognito window, though.

Exit incognito mode

To get out of Incognito mode, simply close your incognito window(s). Here's how:

Learn more about Incognito and Guest mode

Note: At this time, Guest mode is only available on some versions of Chrome.

Both Incognito mode and Guest mode are temporary browsing modes, but there are some basic differences between them.

  • Incognito mode: You don't leave browsing history and cookies on your computer, but you can still see your existing history, bookmarks, passwords, Autofill data, and other Chrome settings.
  •
  • Guest mode: A user in Guest mode does not leave any browsing history or cookies on the computer. In addition, they can't see or modify the computer owner's Chrome profile.

Important: Neither Incognito mode nor Guest mode makes you invisible on the web. Websites you visit, your employer, or your service provider can still see your browsing activity.
