Hi all.

Anyone have a Samsung led tv? In the market for something around 46-48 inches. This model is rated pretty good and just curious if anybody has one knows if there are any problems with it. I have read some issues possibly related to software.

I have a Samsung 47" 3D Led Smart TV, can't say i'v had any problems, picture quality is great, only downer is the crappy sound, i had to buy one of those surround sound bars that's sits in front of the TV but i think that all these TV's will be the same soundwise, think i spoiled myself before by having speakers all around the room.

With the 4KTV being released you can bet the HDTV to fall much lower. Comcast is schedule to start broadcasting 4K in just a few months and I plan on replacing my HDTV with a 4K as soon as the media is available. In short I would wait a few months if you can...

No rush. But 4K is out of my price range and I am not going to get comcast.  Stuff like 3D isnt worth it because I cant watch it. Too much eye strain.

I guess one thing about Samsungs. Dont have any private moments with it turned on.

Reminds me of the last skit in Kentucky Fried Movie.

The software is slow on smart Samsung TV's. I bought a 60" regular LED Samsung and an Android box (Minix Neo X8) for $150 (quad core processor, 2GB memory, 16GB storage expandable, etc). I got Netflix, Hulu plus and other software that allows me to watch anything I want for free, legally, on demand. I just cancelled my cable.

Another one of the samsung spying. I guess the only thing to do is cover up the mic with tape. If possible. Cant even turn it completely off.

How much, if you don't mind me asking, are you willing to spend on the TV? Does it need to be Samsung?

I have the 46" Samsung LED HDTV I got from costco about a year ago (dont remember the model number). Paid another $150 for the Smart model. No issues with software or wifi. My family has Samsung phones and tabs so streaming and smart capability all really comes together.

Happy with this HDTV.

After taking off the doors from the tv cabinet opening I likely wont be able to get anything more than a 42. Ah well. Thought I could maybe get a 48. But there are some wooden supports inside that I cant take off so 41 actual width is the best I could do with little no room to spare. The various brands I looked at generally run around 500 bucks so no big deal there. I figure the price difference from the 48 I can use for a moderately priced sound bar.

You shouldn't have a problem getting one under $500, just bear in mind that you need a TV with digital audio out so you can hook up a sound bar.

cheers

Yea thats all nice of them but we dont know what that third party does or even who they are. How do we know its not the nsa in disguise? Gotta love their solution however. If you dont want to be recorded disconnect from the internet. In effect, turn your smart tv into a dumb one. I am not interested in built in smarttv anyways. Roku and firetv are better anyways.

The 42 inch Vizio has some good reviews.. Whatever I get will likely be from bestbuy because there is a store relatively close and if there are problems in the near future they will fix it. Supposed to anyways.
