Hello,

 

i've been wondering if the call vote could be activated in the freeze server.

The reason i ask is this :

frequently people get a duplicate key warning and can't get in the server anymore for a considerable time.

in the freeze server the player with the duplicate key would still be seen as connecting.

beest and i have tried to fix this by joining the other XI servers when this happened, and then return to frezze after 5 or so minutes.

Only this didn't do the trick.

So now i was thinking , when the player is still listed as connecting, he is still in the " ID database' . 

So if whe then kicked the player, his id would be erased from the database and the player can reconnect.

 Hi Bio ... Buffalo Cody and I run into the Q-port at times as well,  we usually just take a break until the next map rotates and then we can get back in.  

Never figured out why it happens or how to fix from the user side (closed the program out, tried logging into another server  - then return).

yep, it something that happens to us all. It's been talked about and looked into and it seems there no fix for it as of yet...

when you get q ported go to the site here and look to see if there are any cod5 admins in the discord and ask to kick you, i know when cool,morris and I are on we try to keep an eye out for peeps taking too long to log in and we kick them to get you out of q port.

Unfortunately, I've found that I can't kick someone when they come in to TeamSpeak or Discord and ask.  There's something about the NFT server that really locks a player up when they crash at the end of a game and go duplicate q-port as a result.  Short of restarting the server, I really don't know what to do.

 

This seems to be mod specific, and although you can get a duplicate q-port on ACEMOD just as easily as on the FreezeTag mod, for whatever reason ACEMOD is honoring our short timeout setting for a duplicate q-port whereas FreezeTag is ignoring the timeout setting and being real pissy about it.

Y'all might consider going to play on DM1 for the rest of whatever map is running there, then return to NFT.  Not an ideal solution, but it keeps you playing.

Yes you would have to log in to the game @@djMot and use the aacp

I use rcon max...I have it running most of the time I am at work and when I see a 999'r there too long I can kick...also aacp in game works too..

Hmm.  I never think about the aacp.  Thanks for reminding me about that, @@Hunter

 

@@Labob - I seem to remember a conversation some time ago about this.  Merlin would probably remember it better since NFT is his baby.   I remember looking at the connection timeout value, and it's set just like the ACEMOD servers, but the NFT server seems to ignore it.

 

I will say, though, it would be far more convenient for me to be able to just go in via HLSW without starting the game when I'm in the middle of doing some other work.  I have no idea why I can't kick a duplicate q-port on NFT using HLSW.  I think I can on DM1/2.

@@djMot try rconmax...it works well and in my mind anyhow is easier to use than hlsw....

yea rcon max is my fav. @@djMot  the time out setting were changed and hlsw should work still not sure why though.

I hated to use RconMax so much I didn't even install it after I built this PC in the spring of 2014.  They even got the tool-tip timing in that damn thing wrong.  They must have mistaken 5 seconds for .5 seconds, so when you hover over a button wondering what the hell it's for (because they are that non-intuitive,) it takes what seems like forever to get the tip to pop up. 

 

idk.  Maybe it's better, but I've not found anything I can do in RconMax that I can't do in HLSW.  And I think HLSW just uses Rcon commands anyway, right?  So if I can't kick in HLSW, I don't think I have any better chance in RconMax.

 

Maybe I'll install it again, if I can ever stop choking back the vomit just thinking about it.  :lol:

Timeout settings have been checked and ya, for whatever reason is being ignored.  As for kicking players, the AACP works best if in game, HLSW for me only seems to kick non-XI members for some reason, and rcon max which I do like shows all the buttons greyed out so I can't even ban deerejon with that one.  :whistle:

Yes this is a problem from time to time, however there is usually an admin around who can sort this at the time, Activating vote will not prevent this from happening. I and other Admins keep a regular eye on who may stuck in spectator (only happens on a change of map for some reason) If they appear to be stuck we do kick them,  to allow them back in the game.

 

If in individual has a dup QPort, they will be unable to use the vote facility (if enabled) so would make no difference.......
