Not a fucking thing.

Been stuck in this God forsaken state for 3 days and going nuts. Cold as hell, bumpy roads, and just plain miserable. I need to get out before the next mega-storm hits early next week.

I can see why Bullet and Window love it so much.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey LOM I hope you're enjoying your new career. I work as a contractor for Fedex and other minor courier companies and drive literally to the boonies to drop their parcels at their distribution points in the interior. This is one of the places I usually stop for lunch wearing shorts and t-shirts at this time of the year. Maybe you should pick the I5 corridor in the future

Cheers

Joe

Looks nice Joe. I would take almost anyplace over where I am now.  I'm supposed to be working only the 11 western states and usually the I-5 LA to Seattle but did the Chicago run as a favor and it's coming back to bite me in the ass. My return load to the west was canceled by the shipper yesterday, and then had a mechanical problem with my truck today. Having serious second thoughts about my new career choice right now.

Yeah that's what my family was telling me. It's 34 here with a wind chill of 24. I now know why I put up with all of the bullshit California has to offer, the weather is the best anywhere in the US.

Don't give up LOM. Are you driving your own rig or a company truck? .  Give it at least  6-8 months before making any mayor decisions. I don't know how things are in the USA but in Canada the trucking industry is polluted with greedy, not always "bright"  people who don't give a damn about their drivers or owner operators. There are some notable exceptions I must say, but beginnings are not always rosy. Keep your eyes open and be patient. There's is good money in the trucking industry but it takes time to get to know the ropes.

Good luck!!

Little Old Man, you ever been to Hawaii?  I've been there three times (winter, spring, and summer months), and the temperature usually hovers between 80 - 85 degrees Fahrenheit.  To someone from Alaska, this would be considered "hot," but the constantly-blowing trade winds in Hawaii keep it cool.  I've been to California several times, and some parts are way too hot.  San Diego was nice, though.  Ayaq

Oh I'm not Joe. Just very frustrated. I have much better job offers waiting for me after 6 months here so I just need to suck it up until July.

I've seen more rotten teeth and plumbers crack in the last 3 days than anytime in the last 10 years. The men are even worse.

Yeah been there a few times and the weather is great. I still prefer my little corner of California where it rarely gets above 90 in the summer or freezes in the winter. Summer temps average around 75 with the ocean breezes coming in but far enough inland to avoid the constant ocean fog. Very few bugs and no humidity. Wish I was there right now instead of freezing my ass off here.

You think Illinois roads are bad, try Michigan! Heaviest truck traveled and the cold makes them look like WE had an earthquake! We'd fix them, but too much money spent on lead water in Flint! Fucking politicians!! Hope you get home safe LOM!
