Hey @@Sammy, we used to have a sound effect of your player taking a deep breath or a sigh when you come back into spawn protection after being defrosted. This was helpful because I will sometimes minimize my screen while frozen to do some work..and that audio cue would let me know I had been defrosted and could get back to playing. Is it possible to add that sound effect back in?

I dont remember that. If it was like that before I probably just changed something around to fix some other problem. Will see what I can do. Is there any other existing sound that might work better as a voice notification? Something short along the lines of the 'take no prisoners' or 'lets do this' dialogs at the beginning of the match?

But shame on you for playing games when you are supposed to be working.

I think its both a timing issue in terms of location as well as when health reaches 100 percent. Likely I did something when I had to use the more complex health system for things like venom, second chance and health packs. I did a quick test for 'move in' and it required a little bit of a workaround because of the same kind of problem. There is a built in delay between sending the command to move position and when the game actually does it. Two server frames (0.1 seconds for the sound to work at the correct location).

The proper way to do it is the sound settings when making up the sound itself so it works like announcements or ticking timebombs. I think. That will require a partial mod rebuild and its not ready for that until I am sure all script updates are complete and without issues. Maybe there is a short 'fight' type voice from one of the other cod games meant to be used on respawn and not match start?

I'd take any sound you can easily implement that won't break all the other work you've done. Anything will work once we know what to listen for.

I think that sound everyone gets to hear. I've always been able to hear when someone else gets defrosted, but I don't remember if it is as noticable on the player getting defrosted.

OT: What sound card? I am finally getting a new pc this summer.

Tried it with an existing sound with the proper settings for this kind of thing and that sound worked. So in the future, if I find a good 'respawn' dialog I like, I will add it with the correct settings. I assume that will work as well. Any ideas on sounds to check out let me know. I prefer sounds from one of the other cods. I may or may not have them but something to consider.

You mean deathstreak? Hmm. Heard it yesterday on the server. Or was it the day before. I get a lot of those.

However, sometimes there may be sound conflicts with too many at the same time so those with less priority have to be dropped.

I had a creative X-Fi but with a higher SNR the new one is onboard my mobo but with a lower SNR and better equalization in surround sound. When people walk behind me I know exactly where they are even if behind a wall. I never experienced that before and always thought it was BS when people said so.

My previous build my sound card was one of those inexpensive asus headphone amps. Lots better than the sound from a mb I got years ago. However since it was pci and not pci-e it wouldnt fit on the new one. So it was back to on-board again. It is certainly better than the other mb audio but isnt great. So I spent the $25 to get the same sound card again, but pci-e, and its back to where it was. Cheap and not very robust as far as sound cards go but better than mb audio for headphones and the price was right. The drivers and software is a bit old tho.
