So will Shiny, pubs are reopening, remember to have a big meal before you set off Daddyo, the bears appreciate a full stomach, keeps them fed for a week.

They'll get mexican and asian at the same time. I'll be taking rice noodles to my hike.

I came back from a long vacation last week, and I have a lot of photos for you guys ❤️  I went to quite a lot of places in France to visit friends and family, South - East - North, and took the opportunity to hike quite a bit.

We'll start off South, with a short hike on the Blue Coast, barely 20 minutes from Marseilles. Short hike under a scorching sun to reach some bits of paradise, like this one.

IMG_20200714_145837.thumb.jpg.265e8b629f43fcf0032e44a88a20bea4.jpg

I then went to the Alps, close to Grenoble, and climbed up to the Lake Charlet. We started at 1,500m and stopped at 1,920m, by then it became so foggy that we had to turn back.

IMG_20200717_152249.thumb.jpg.c0a790cfc513f0969f524e2256cffb73.jpg

Then came the best part hiking-wise, very close to the Mont Blanc, next to the Swiss and Italian borders. We got extremely lucky regarding the weather, it was just stunning. Starting off easy at the Pierre à Bosson (1,250m > 1,670m) to get us in shape:

Then the real deal in the mountains - albeit on very touristic routes. We started at an altitude of 1,850m and went up to 2,350m, by the Lac Blanc :

Last one I did in France, much easier and at a lower altitude, at the Col de l'Aigle in the fantastic eastern department of Jura ! Their accent is almost as beautiful as their landscape.

Then! Back in Sweden, I went camping and did two hikes. Nothing too special about these, still found some nice viewpoints.

And that's it for now ! Will try to do a few more before it starts getting cold here. That being said I am really looking forward to the autumn, the Swedish forests in the autumn are just breathtaking. ?

@MikZzona These are so beautiful and I'm sooooo jealous! We don't have alps around here like that here.

I"m glad you were able to go out and explore, and share these beautiful pictures with all of us. Personally I've been so busy that I haven't had time to go. Hopefully in about 2-3 weeks I"ll be able to go, and I'll update us all.

@ShinyAbsol Ma'am we're still waiting on that English countryside!

Told you, the only place those boots will go will be Tesco's, absolutely no chance of ruining clothes, hair, nails or makeup, what say you SgtChris?

Nothing calms you down more than walking in the outdoors.

Well, maybe Xanax does, but still.

You must be joking?, you want to see near where I live, it's being discovered by tourists now but 10 years ago you could walk all day without seeing anyone. Now post lockdown the fckrs are driving 200 miles to park in no parking spots, dumping litter, illegally camping and poaching, it's like Zombie dawn. You can spot them a mile away, they drive BMW's, are kitted out in designer walking gear, lurk around tearooms and talk in loud posh voices, we just take their money, and tow away their cars.

Shiny get out their gal, sitting at home increases anxiety, do something, go to the park, I've got a new trenchcoat , (take binoculars)

It's not really a hike and it's not really a big exploratory walk but I did get out today with mum and dad. We're currently keeping it short and level given that I'm a hecking CHONKER and really, incredibly unfit, and also mum is in a wheelchair and gets tired easy because of her health issues. But we're taking baby steps and the long term plan will be the long ass hikes you guys take.

In the meantime, we took a walk along the river by the park where we live, I had no idea I had this much beauty right on my doorstep. I feel better already too! Fortunately I didn't come across Rob in his trenchcoat so there's another plus118114259_3455489241129488_3225880038989140935_n.jpg.f95eed4b58965b0e42c2b54050194d8c.jpg118159783_3455490124462733_586892326745324038_n.jpg.796a692cc2f5721b9d12b75c8c172a33.jpg118173705_3455490641129348_1785460000081292468_n.jpg.daf374b7e947b02ea135eb70e1f8110a.jpg118179984_3455489361129476_4049820206419690013_n.jpg.027779dcbbc05a661ac1f9d5032b4c8b.jpg118214549_3455489101129502_7183925251776404850_n.jpg.62bc60e67a40971f0d33a8a0524b1cf2.jpg118239953_3455489714462774_9086198327295988977_n.jpg.27975cf0a3f61c4e202b3cd86a6e99d6.jpg118276078_3455491581129254_2423317962143925346_n.jpg.3ed01c17332d9ebf76782423b286d3f2.jpg

We came across a fish refuge along the way. They put baby fish here and look after them until they're strong enough to survive in the river on their own. Kinda cute little conservation effort I thought.118286558_3455490484462697_7631230528043764878_n.jpg.c34ee93ed5b39bb6b17445fe75d116c9.jpg118288670_3455490734462672_5083075926363886814_n.jpg.dc14be3aa2b0e800deb16451d9f90cff.jpg

You can fish there, think you need a license. There's fishing platform thingys all along both sides of the river. We even have an annual fishing festival where people come from all over the country to fish. Presumably that's probably why we have the fish refuge.

@ShinyAbsol It's good to see the nice English countryside of things! I'm proud of you, and I look forward to seeing more and more and how your adventures turn out. I've been busy with work, this weekend I was on call, so I couldn't go anywhere.

I'm looking forward to fall season here in 2 months, and I'll be backpacking and I'll bring more photos. Hopefully not this weekend but next weekend coming up, I'll be able to go. So look forward to more on my end.

@MikZzona That's really pretty, and I'm envious of where you went. However, nice of you to share with us. I'm happy to see you also going out, and WE expect more from you as well.

@RobMc Show us at least the corner store, where you get your beer at.

Best part is the fact that I didn't even need to leave town to get those shots, I really do live in a spectacular area of the country it seems!

Definitely going to have more adventures, I'm surrounded by little country villages that are just lovely to be in. The long term goal is the hill I can see from my bedroom window. It's called Bredon hill and it has lots of trails to walk on. Oooh Broadway Tower is also a good spot, some incredible views up there!

If you or @MikZzona ever find yourselves in my neck of the woods, I'd be thrilled to show you both round.

@MikZzona That's really pretty, and I'm envious of where you went. However, nice of you to share with us. I'm happy to see you also going out, and WE expect more from you as well.

Hehe I'll be sure to keep going out there then. Probably not in the couple next weeks because I'll be moving to a new apartment, but soon.

Anyhow, I went on another hike on Thursday, 15km in 2h40min, very little elevation (although Alltrails shows 293m, not sure where it finds that much), it was quite different from what I've done so far in Sweden, no deep blue lakes or viewpoints this time really, but I can still post a couple of photos here I guess. The walk itself was pretty great though.

Went hiking with my dad in the mountains of South Carolina this weekend.  It rained almost the entire time.  Hike 8 hours on Saturday, and it rained for 7.  And 3 of those it was a torrential downpour that never let up.  Hiked 3 hours Sunday, and it rained for 1.5 hours  Managed to get some decent pictures.

Great post everyone.

My wife and myself went hiking several hours north near Jasper National Park.  The trail was Maligne Canyon which took a few hours.

I love all these pictures! Thank you for keeping updated! I've been a little quiet, but also because this is almost my 3rd week straight working, them busted pipelines keep me on my toes. So working weekends, yeah money is great. Though it's fall time in the south, and I'm ready to climb up some hills!

See you soon, hopefully!
