I like my car as original as possible, the only change are the wheels.

I see that many people in the states convert old cars, sometimes in a way the car gets ugly (my opinion). I prefer them to be original.

I disagree, it's like playing on our servers on an acorn, I don't mind at all the old body with modern suspension, engine and brakes. I recently sold on Ebay 6 original 35 amp fuses for £20 each to lunatics who need originality for their restorations, lucky me, sad them. I love watching Fantomworks where Dan makes a new car out of an old one, Bobby and Mark are heroes to me, very skilled people. The reason is these vehicles are to be used, not stuck in an air conditioned room and towed to competitions. I've never done a car, only bikes, and have in some instances restored to original, but the best ones were using modern technology to make them more reliable, and USE.

My uncle had 3 Opal GTs 1 orange 1 white and 1 rust colored. 1 of them caught on fire 1 of them rusted apart and the white one got hit hard in the rear. He sold them and bought a little 4x4 Chevy Luv. That was a cool little truck.

My 1st car was an old 1969 Plymouth Valiant Signet 4 Dr with a 225 slant 6. 2nd car was a 1971 Pontiac LeMans Sport, red with white vinyl top and white leather interior. The lemans got hit and totaled by a snow plow truck. The 69 Plymouth is sitting down in the field at my grandparents place. I was constantly fixing rust on it. When it threw a rod through the side of the block I parked it. It still ran on 5 cylinders but had no power and the thing was about to break in 1/2 from all of the rust.

i remember GM dealership advertized as little corvette around 71'-72' in locale newspapers  1968 TV   cute car

had 80 sunbird with 3.8L V6  and  subframe  stuff it in new a 81' Honda Civic. after was rear ended on highway. chopped the floor pan for transmission hump, shorten tail stock to fit a driveshaft, diff was 3.08 with 4 link an kept the orginale struts with heavier springs and made a crossmember  to support it. total sleeper only the 13 inch wheels and no back seats  gave it away
