I have some favorite cooking books.   These 2 are the books that I find to be the most impactful.  Cookbooks are up there, though.

Too many to name but if you like fantasy ... The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant (S Donaldson) & The Sage of the Pliocene Exiles (J May).

These series are multi book and a great read.

Oh shit!  You're the first I've heard mention Thomas Covenant.   Any time I've mentioned them over the years, nobody's known of them.  

Interesting twist in that the protagonist is an anti-hero & traveling between two intertwined realities.   Up there with Tolkien,  imho.

White Gold - awesome. Second set of 3 had pace, drama and opened up the other world so much. Giants!! Read these avidly. Now year's later more books published.

Try Julian May's series starting with the Golden Torc - another rollercoater ride back & forth across time & space.

Was never a big leisure reader, do a lot of that for work all day every day.  Bought my wife a new kindle and said what the heck, i'll get into that so bought myself one too and started reading to wind down at the end of the day.  So, right now, I am in the middle of the Dirk Pitt series by Clive Custler which I do enjoy.

YO @Timmah!  here's the deal  - come on over with one of your famous dishes and you can browse all you want - I have another dozen or so boxes filled with books that I don't have shelf space for - bring desert and you can look through those too
