No one could afford to spay and neuter. Everyone had a potato sack and a rock. Animals we’re fed on table scraps, cats were for rodents, dogs for protection. These things were real feeding and housing the family took every cent a person made. Boughten pet food was just beginning to be a multi billion dollar industry it is today.
