This is an annual

reminder but should be done.......................

If you don't look at but one picture, be sure you take a look at the last one

so that you will know what the spider looks like!

It's springtime & cleanup is going on. Be careful where you put

your hands. They like dark spaces & woodpiles

Also areas in the attic.................................................

This guy was bitten by a Brown Recluse spider.

sp1.jpg

Day 3

The following illustrates
the progression of a brown recluse spider bite.

The affected skin actually dies on his body!

sp2.jpg

Day 5

Some of the pictures towards the end are pretty nasty, but take a

look at the last one - it is a picture of the spider itself.

sp3.jpg

Day 6

The Brown Recluse Spider is the most dangerous spider that

we have in the USA

sp4.jpg

Day 9

A person can die from it's bite We all should know what the

spider looks like

sp5.jpg

Day 10

Send this around to people you love, because it is almost summertime.

People will be digging around, doing yard work, spring cleaning,

and sometimes in their attics.

The Dangerous Brown Recluse Spider

Please be careful. Spider bites are dangerous and can have permanent

and highly negative consequences.

They like the darkness and tend to live in storage sheds or attics or

other areas that might not be frequented by people or light.

If you have a need to be in your attic, go up there and turn on a

light and leave it on for about 30 minutes before you go

in to do your work!

Nice reminder JohnnyDos.  A few years ago I put on my garden shoes that had been sitting in the garage all winter and got bit on the side of the foot.   Never did find out what kind of spider it was but I was layed up for over a week.  Now I always  check my shoes and gloves and anything that is stored in the garage b4 I grab them.  little bastards.

I got bit by a big horse fly on the lower thigh at one of my kid's soccer games about 10 years ago. I didn't think much of it, I usually get a pretty nasty reaction, but Benadryl usualy does the trick if you take it the same day. It didn't work so good on this bite, and a week later my leg (the only one I have) was red, yellow and purple. The nurse at the emergency room I went to, after much berating from my wife about how much of an asshole I was to wait so long, saw my leg and said "holy shit, how long has it looked like that?!", I think my wife may have called in advance.... the Doc had a similar reaction, although more professional. He said I had Sepsis aka blood poisoning, but we didn't have time for tests unless I wanted two wooden legs, and started me on IV anti-biotics and IV antihistamine. Three hours later the rash and swelling were gone. The affected area near the bite was almost hot enough to cook an egg on. Everyone has different reactions to this shit, so be careful. I shop vac my garage and work shop of every frigging spider and insect I see, fuck them all. We also have the copperheads coming out of hibernation, and they really deserve respect, as the are kinda ornery when they wake.

I have had several bites that look like Day 3 but never anything past that. I used to work on older houses and also did home inspections. I never knew what even bit me.

So some may claim it is a hoax, but there are a lot of other pics of this if you look it up. That is wrong to claim that may be a hoax if it is true at all that this could happen to somebody. They never said it wasn't for real, so why should it be on that website.

A few years ago I went to grab what I thought was a big plastic spider that someone was playing a joke with and that damn thing ran off. Scared the shit out of me. It was a good 2 - 3 inches across, legs and all. We have so many kinds of spiders I never knew what it was. We have found those kind all over the place, that just happened to be the biggest one. Fairly large, medium body compared to leg size. Bigger body in relative size than the brown Recluse. Dark Reddish color, almost black. Can be as small as a penney up to the size of a dollar bill folded in half. I have people guess what they are but nobody ever knew for sure.

Thanks Johnny, even if it helps save one person some pain then it is worth it.

About five years ago my brother was bitten on the stomach by a brown recluse...He almost died...He had a rotting hole in his flesh about the size of a coffee cup where the bite was...There is no anti-toxin for brown recluse bites...Antibiotics are used to control infection caused by the rotting flesh...My brothers bite and treatment made the medical journals as a miracle that he survived...These spiders are everywhere in the southern U.S. and because of the mobility of our society are showing up in other areas of the country...They are indeed nasty little critters that meet the sole of my shoe every chance that I get...SmileSmile

The other name for these little bastards is fiddlebacks as there is a symbol on their back that likes like a fiddle and its brown in color! I and my brother were bitten. I was swollen from my shoulder to my finger tips but aftwer that there was no other reaction as he bit me right on the area of my elbo that was calloused and very leathey and not much venom was incerted! My brother on the other hand was bitten several times cause he was a plumber and crawled underneath houses all the time but never ever went to the Doctor even when he had severe wounds as on the video and the pix and he is still alive and going strong! I thank God for both of us still being here!

I have had one runnin with them and it wasnt just one it was a nest of em and they had gotten me on both shins and right shoulder lests just say since I had my right leg amputated u cant see the scars that was there. Amputation not related but on my other leg the scars are still there and that shin is very sensitive now if I bump it on anything I automaticly get a sore. The tissue on that leg will never be the same and I have a huge scar on my shoulder and middle of back. Maybe I will post pics of my shin shoulder and back. I will have the gf take em tommorow if I remember and post. Make sure you are carefull of damp warm areas this is there breeding ground. Check all shoes as they love to hide there also.

I hated those things, and the black widows down south. Every time I crawled under my house when I lived down there, I saw them. Thankfuly I was never bitten. The water moccasins, copperheads, rattlers. So glad I moved back to Minnesota!
