From what i researched they say its a audio problem...but i tried all the fixes i could... i changed the mssmp3.asi file to mssmp3.bak ran it in admin mode my sound drivers are up to date So did anyone else had this problem? and figure it out? if so let me know. i really dont wanna reinstall if i dont have too...(pain in the ass) Thanks Teleck

Current as in I think they were from November 2011. I have not had this issue again as of yet. But like you said, it comes and goes as well, so only time will really tell. I just did all this last week.

And a usb mic. Only way I know of to solve this issue so it never comes back. The next method prfered by most great games is to play WAW coolmd and 2_MANY_BEERS 2 Awards

Then enable all of disabled devices. Don't waste money on a new sound card, worked for me.

Turns out all my machine needed was a restart and it was working fine after that. I leave my mic plugged in permanently as i know with Vista and Win 7, the cod series after 4 likes to crash without one plugged in. been that way for years. hope your problem is sorted out by now.

As it turned out my sound card was too old and the drivers did not support the audio in game very well. It sounds like you've tried all that already though. How old is your sound card?

I have always ran multiple hard drives. Never had any issues. Hollar if there's something I could help with.
Sonovabich Posted April 11, 2012 Member ID: 82 Group: ** Registered Users Followers: 0 Topic Count: 1535 Topics Per Day: 0.27 Content Count: 5022 Content Per Day: 0.88 Reputation: 5198 Achievement Points: 131537 Solved Content: 0 Days Won: 116 Joined: 09/02/09 Status: Offline Last Seen: 11 hours ago Device: Windows Posted April 11, 2012 No i am not running my ssd drive as my main hard drive, but my pc want's to automatically load everything to my C:\ drive by default, things like itunes that are on my 2TB D:\ drive also have files on my C:\ drive and when i copy cd's to my ipod or itunes etc, they go into the C:\ drive , the same with cod 4 i first put it on my D:\ drive then i look and see the Activision folder etc is on my C:\drive, same with BF3 i have it installed on my D:\ drive then see plugins etc are on my C:\ drive, i don't understand all this crap, my last 3 PC's had one drive the C;\ drive where everything just went automatically...simple, Rockape gave me a possible fix, type regedit in my search box then follow this path locate HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE SOFTWARE- MICROSOFT- WINDOWS-CURRENT VERSION then in the box to the right of that locate program files double click on that then change the value in the box from c:\program files to d:\program files, i did that next day my machine would'nt start up, had to do a restore, another problem with that is i see 6 otions for my C:drive there 1)CommonFilesDir 2) CommonFileDir (X86) 3) CommonW6432Dir 4) ProgramFileDir 5) ProgramFilesDir (x86) 6)ProgramW6432Dir so maybe i have to change all of them to D:\ Program Files but i dare'nt mess about with anything like that, it's really pissing me off and now to add to that i am getting fucking iw3.mp.exe problems all morning when yesterday everything ran fine.
