Yeah I do drink also, but have never let it control me or my life, but have watched it kill more people that I loved than anything else. Its all truly about choices Dean, either you choose to be a loser or you don't, if you allow anything to dominate you, then you are a loser and have choosen poorly or are just weak minded! I prefer it to alcohol (not to take anything away from my taste for alcohol). However, I feel pretty strongly that weed needs to stay illegal until certain methods are created to test whether a person is currently high or not. Marijuana affects reaction time and judgement, just like alcohol. But unlike alcohol, tests can only determine if you have smoked weed within the past few weeks/month etc. I dont want to be kept from driving just because I smoke (please god dont let it come to that), but I also know there are risks involved in operating a 4000 pound hunk of metal with slow reaction time and poor judgement. I rarely drink and honestly dont recall the last time i was drunk. But im a habitual pothead. It does not effect how i go about my everyday life. I have not missed a day of work in over 4 years (give me a drinker who drinks to way i smoke pot and lets here them say the same!) It never takes precident over my time with my wife and kids. I took a course in which we were only given side-effects and benefits of certain substances and asked to label them as either: Uncontrolled (access to everyone), For adults only (18+), Prescription only, or Outlawed (too dangerous). It is absolutely fascinating to see how people rate drugs when you take the name away. Caffine and acetometophine (Tylenol) were either 18+ or prescription, while cocaine and marijuana were given much more favorable ratings compared to being outlawed.
