Two days, a case of beer and a bottle of scotch later, I finally have one that compiles. I still have a lot of work to do, and a lot of stuff to learn. Thankfully, the map editing tool is Radiant, which I used back in the day when I made Quake 2 maps. Why did I think this was a good idea, anyway? Boomer Posted May 26, 2012 Member ID: 2083 Group: **- Inactive Registered Users Followers: 42 Topic Count: 172 Topics Per Day: 0.04 Content Count: 3554 Content Per Day: 0.73 Reputation: 4992 Achievement Points: 23761 Solved Content: 0 Days Won: 6 Joined: 12/31/10 Status: Offline Last Seen: May 14, 2014 Birthday: 10/20/1962 Share Posted May 26, 2012 most of my attempts were all trying to join them by some kind of boxed type piece between them..... well haha that crap didn't work! everything I did allowed light in, to make a long story short, just join your sections at a spot where 1 of the sections is flat, pull back a piece of your wall and slide the other section up to it, remember to highlight the piece or pieces you want your section to join to first then highlight the other 1 and weld them....at the top where the curve is, draw a brush approx 2 to 3 grid and use your E key and angle the side upward like at a 45 degree angle and slide it down on top of your main piece, widen and lengthen it as you need to block out light, compile and test it until you get what you want. I did it this way and it worked, I run or walk through it with no problem, its just not as pretty as I would have liked it to be, BUT, it works! Peoples tuts ALWAYS leave shit out and it leaves you hanging out to dry! Either they assume you already know everything or they assume you will know where they fuck up at and that you can fix it anyway.....HMMMMM BS! They love to only give pieces of information and not the WHOLE story, BASTARDSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! lol I do get help from time to time from our MASTER MAP MAKER! hahahaha Map 3 will be the last big map I make I think, hmmmmm not sure but the bigger the map, the more crap it takes to make it happen!
