at first that sounded like a hardware problem along with a possible driver problem for it to just start to happen with no changes to your system (i assume).... that would make me lean to hardware.

If continues to happen Idiot named Chile, memory, video card and cpu all suspects. CPU being the least likely IMO.

Hope it stay working...... would hate to have to repeat myself. :) lol

So... what were you doing when it started... Porn???? hahahaha

I have had no problems with AMD Catalyst update. I always uninstall the old driver first in programs a features and completely uninstall EVERYTHING including chipset driver software that will come with the new driver. Reboot and do an install. I have found that if you just try to update it causes problems. (Note: download new driver to the desktop first...)

I have installed the latest 301.42 and it is running great with my GTX 480. I love the new adaptive V-Sync and support for FXAA.

Ok..So I use to get a long beep and 2 short 1 in a row.continues .monitor would go off and all I would get is a NO signal..NOW..that was before I put 2 new Ram sticks in there..in the other 2 slots..removed all 1s..RUN a program..STRESS program..made everything run at 100 % for 30 minutes..NOTHING..Looked good..BUT..Now is shutting down on me again..ONLY when I spec..wierd ..Only now is 1 long beep and 3 short 1s..only ONCE and silent..have to hold power button down to shutdown..when I boot again..Just says start windows normally..when it boots..all it says ..Windows has recover from unspected shut down...

ANY 1 has any ideas out there?..Please

Could it be a VIDEO issue?

Had some problems at first because I let the game "optimize" my settings after update was done. But after I went back to what I had, seems a lot better. Had to lower some of the textures after even COD2 (which normally is very stable game) locked up between every map load. NOw does not lock up any longer. Recommend if you update driver to say NO to letting COD optimize for you - keep setting you had if all was good prior.

chille did you fix this??

This is important -> are you monitoring the temperatures??

if not then down load spcccy for free and leave it open to monitor temps...if cpu jump up 30 degrees maybe heatsink had shifted and need to be secured??Ive had that happen with heavy new heatsinks on cpu's and those shitty cpu hs plastic tabs not securing..laying computor on its side would tell you because it would make better contact till you secure it properly...hope this helps..

this may not fix it but may help a bit?

just get a small house fan and put next to your computer so that it had an abundance of air flowing towards your air inlet on your computer or just take side cover off also make sure to blow out all the dust.I just moved minone off the floor recently because the inlet would act like a vacuum and get packed with cat hair and my rig would get too hot end of every week till i cleaned it out.I usually blow out all the dust every week or two with a small compressor i roll out from the garage ..This helps alot plus Ive added 6 vented holes in my front grill and fans in my case.Nothing more important then airflow to keep you computor or electronics lasting longer...the cooler the better.gl

alright, which program is best for setting up a fan speed curve? I have Nvidia control panel, but the controller in it doesn't seem to work, you can manually change the speed, but it stays where you put it. I set up a curve, but it won't follow it. It runs fairly cool and quiet at 30% being about 53 to 55C or 125 to 130F.

I want it to run lower temp at idle, and keep it under 140F in game. It used to do this before I added my second monitor, but I got so used to it now that I don't want to take it off. The second monitor makes it run at full speed all the time is why it jumped in temp. Before it was around 90F idle, and 115F in game.

So anyway, back to my original question, rivatuner, or afterburner, or what? I got a GTX560ti 1gb.
