Is there a FREE public teamspeak server where I can get my own private channel? Or is it possible to set up a teamspeak server on my computer? This is so my daughter and her friends can talk while they play Roblox instead of burning up bandwidth with face time or hogging the phone. Thanks. Awards

Never heard them complaining that it was a pain the the butt.......good luck1 Edited February 17, 2014 by Damit1 Awards

That's as far as you need to go if it's private as the basics are there for you. Permissions are a bit of the bitch until you understand them lol. Awards

On Windows as well on Linux. There is some network configuration needed (port forwarding and possibly firewall settings) I if you don't plan to make the server (more) public and accessible to everyone you can ignore most of the permission settings and use the default. Just protect the server with a good password. Don't hesitate to ask if you have further questions Awards

You guys make it sound so easy but the port thingy scares me and I couldn't tell you if I have a firewall. If I have some time this weekend I'll get started on this. And if I have any questions, I know who to ask. Now should I set this up on our main computer (iMac) or should I set this up on our secondary lap top? The laptop is 5 years old and runs on XP. Simply allow the teamspeak traffic incoming and outgoing. the laptop should be fine. Awards

Like everyone else said just some setting to the router will be needed. Trial and error and you will get it. Do you have a static ip address?? If so it will be easy if not there are simple solutions for that too. You are lucky there are a lot of IDIOTS here to help you Wild Fire 1 Awards
