As often happens people dont change unless something bad takes place. But yea I guess they put too much trust in those in possession of those launchers. "They" being all the airlines since MAL wasnt the only one that flew over that country on a routine basis.

this seems to raise a red flag here....are you telling me that plane took a course that was no where near goin to russia/ukraine border....end up re positioning the plane once again after take off and still made all that way undetected by anyone and after all these months just now finding it at russia / ukraine something very fishy here even since take off nothing has added up ...even now...i just find it hard to believe that the plane was shot down hours after take off and it took so many months to find? really? i think something smells worse than tuna here...

   Clearly the plane was taken down by Ukranian separatists who mistook it for something other than a commercial flight. They used a Russian BUK missile system; Russian military would have verified the plane's identity so it's doubtful they were directly involved. Nonetheless, blame for this can be laid squarely at the feet of Vladimir Putin who instigated the civil war in Ukraine to grab territory and has armed and is directing the insurgency. 298 people were murdered including several dozen American citizens and dickhead in the oval office needs to, for once in his fucking presidency, ACT. Serious sanctions that hurt Russia should be put in place; we should immediately provide military assistance (equipment only) to Ukraine, and we should announce we are resuming the European missile shield that dickhead pulled and for which he got nothing from the Russians.

My guess is pro Russian separatist who grabbed hold of a BUK SAM system just went trigger happy. When they found out its a civilian aircraft, they quickly backtracked.

Back in UK, waiting for my parole to be granted by the warden. At this rate I will be back in Canada for at least a week or 2 before I am sent back to some other grade A shithole. Its not a mistook, all the commercial flights pass in that corridor.

Just heard there was over eighty children on board, i cannot believe the Ukrainian Army would have done this unless it was a mistake, even if it was the separatists it still surely had to be a mistake, the question should be asked why any Aviation company would send their planes over a war zone.

Within 20 minutes of the plane being shot down, Russian news was bragging about the great victory of the seperatists who they "thought" had just shot down a Ukraine military transport. Then there is a video of an intercepted transmission between a Russian general talking to a seperatist commander explaining that the wreckage proved it was a civilian plane and how fucked up it all was. Within an hour Russia was blaming the Ukrainian government for shooting down the plane, this even though the missle was shot from territory held by the seperatists.

 

I get much of my information from Liveleak.com. Unless you have a strong stomach, I don't suggest you watch the video there. They don't edit anything, and they show the wreckage with the bodies, which is why I don't put links up for their web site here.

 

Russia is quietly invading former Soviet held land and trying to topple the Ukrainian government so they can annex the entire country. Other than imposing more sanctions against Russia which do almost nothing, the rest of the world is too cowardly to stop Russia from getting what they want. The plane disaster will be swept under the rug within a couple weeks then it will be back to business as usual for Russia and their takeover of Ukraine.

Many countries have that technology. The BUK missiles used to shoot down the jet were developed by the Soviets in the late 1970's and are still used today by Russia and dozens of countries they supply arms to, including the pro-Russian seperatists in the Ukraine.

I was just going to say how much that sucks, but as it turns out that video isn't of the Malaysian flight, but it's a Antanov AN-30 that was shot down in June.

Certainly looks like a huge engine fire but the plane was still in control. More than likely one of the fuel tanks were ignited after that and it exploded considering the wreckage is that widespread.

That's not video of the Malaysian flight. See my earlier post. The wreckage of the Malaysian flight was spread over 25 square miles, so it broke apart from the missle impact and fell to the ground in pieces.

Yea it got posted as I was writing. All I can think is that the Russians took a huge gamble in training the rebels how to use them but without providing centralized air control. Hoping that they knew what they were shooting it. I suppose they thought they were shooting at another transport and since the world didnt really care about it the first time, do it again.

No evidence of any fire before it hit the ground. The missile explodes next to the target braking it apart....  It was shot down with this SA-11 to be exact and it requires more than just one to make the system work.

 

Anyone else hear war drums playing?

The Russians have already said if it got the recorders they would be turned over to the lead investigators. Considering it was the rebels that did it turning them over would be in the Russians best interests to remove any doubts that they were involved.
