British inventors design "fart machines" to send rude noises across the English Channel to France!

Yes, they do!

Keep in mind America is a nation that makes shows like Jackass lots of money for their media lords. It is also a nation that made Honey Boo-Boo and her fried butter family stars.

True Sammy, but they also invented and developed the thing you're typing on right now to complain about them.  The best thing to come out of Canada was hockey, the snow blower, and garbage bags.

Of course as we all know nothing really stupid has ever come out of Canada in the name of entertainment.

Well there is that time Canada was run by Saddam Hussein. Also dont forget how Canada threatened and outpaced the US in advanced Zamboni technology.

Funniest thing about the Internet, it was invented and funded with research money given by the government to a government agency. At the time quite a few thought it was a waste of money. Interesting how things turn out.

Without WWW. we would not be able to insult each other everyday Frenchi, of course with just about every invention not one person can take 100% credit, everyone steals ideas from somebody else be it past or present....don't forget Templiers..we invented them too lol.

My apologies to my learned friend but, yes, our country did possess territory in Europe within its Empire: Malta and Cyprus.

(It also occupied Minorca but that changed hands, the French then the Spanish holding it.)

EDIT - a postscript.  China certainly: Hong Kong.  South America definitely: The Falkland Islands!

The map that LOM has used actually shows all the countries that ours has invaded!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/history/9653497/British-have-invaded-nine-out-of-ten-countries-so-look-out-Luxembourg.html

For those who are puzzled by the references to "the pink bits", perhaps thinking this may be some salacious talk,

the true meaning is conveyed in this short clip from one of my favourite movies - "Hope and Glory".

Correct Deejay, his invention "The Analytic Engine" is recognized as the worlds first computer. Not even gonna mention Alan Turin and the fine computer we invented to crack the Enigma code in WW2, oh ok yes i will lol.

You probably didn't notice but I never said Americans invented the computer, I said that they invented that thing he's typing on. All of the miniaturized electronic components which make personal computers possible were invented right here in the good old USA by a man named Jack Kilby. He and Robert Noyce designed and built the very first intergrated circuts back in the late 50's. Kilby went on to make the first hand-held calculator for Texas Instruments and Noyce went on to found Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel.

Mechanical clocks were invented some time in the mid 1200's in Europe, but I don't give them credit for inventing the wrist watch. Mechanical devices used for making complex mathmatical calculations have been around for a long time, but without intergrated circuts we would still be feeding IBM punch cards into a machine instead of reading emails on our smart phones.

Just sayin.

Sammy is right, it was supposed to be a secure communication system for the military that could not be spied in to. Yes, yes; I know.
