Just wandering if anyone has knowledge about the above car.  My son has one and he has been plagued by transmission issues.  Warranty he purchased refuses to pay for a new transmission and he does not know what to do. BMW dealer agrees with him that he needs a new transmission.  Car only has 75000 miles.  He bought it with 66000 miles.

Any suggestions other than trading it in would be very welcomed.

FRUSTRATED!!!! :rtfm:

That sucks.... time to get ride of it. Will cost you an arm and leg. Looks like you can find automatics for $1500 or so.

That is why I drive a stick... less things to break assuming it is a manual.

Thanks for all the responses, but fortunately, the beamer is gone.  To much trouble to maintain.

Warranties on second hand cars aren't worth shit!

Dual Mass Flywheel went on our 2008 2.0Diesel Mondeo only 5 weeks after getting it. Not classed as a wear and tear part under the warranty, but fuckers wouldn't pay out because it wasn't a "catasrophic" failure. Meaning, they wanted it to have exploded, shattered or disintigrated immediately for them to pay out.

best way to drive a manual trans is have vehicle on a flat surface  start out in first and your only using the clutch to get vehicle rolling with out any throttle

this will teach you how to operate clutch with minimal slippage  also note that if clutch is grabbing near top last of of pedal movement,  means time for clutch replace ment

once you get vehicle rolling then hammer the throttle,  less your foot on the pedal is best for clutch life of it and throw bearing
