I visited the Niagra Falls (about 70 miles from Toronto) in 2003 on "the Canadian side." The surveyors delineating the boundary between the U.S. and Canada most certainly were Canadian; how else could you explain the little "trickle" on the U.S. side and the magnificent "Horseshoe Falls" on the Canadian side of the border? It's hard to believe that that massive volume of water could freeze like that. Thanks for sharing. Ayaq TBB, Hunter1948 and Merlin007
 It did though one time, and only once, come to a near stop due to a massive ice dam that formed on top as the river froze over, continued to flow, creating a massive dam. But only for a short time until water broke through. This was back in the mid 1800's, 1848 to be exact. Yes, I looked it up but I'm from there and worked on Clifton Hill when I was a kid, but there is a lot of great history in that area.
