Anybody know why most (not all) peoples pings were up at least 100 points in the True Hardcore server, my ping is usually 105 it was jumping between that and 245, Killingmans was the same and it wasn't just Euro players, Boomslang is from the US he usually has a ping of around 60, his ping was jump to around the 185 mark, yet others like JohnnyDos was having no problems, played earlier in the Euro server and my ping was normal, add to that Teamspeak crashing for everyone at about the same time as it did yesterday it has not been too good today.

Teamspeak didn't crash it was a host restart. Unsure of why the pings are up.

It's the crappy provider that game server company has us on, colocrossing.com

I always have and see issues with colocrossing servers

12  eth1-4.edge1.nyc4.us.as5580.net (78.152.44.79)  57.483 ms  63.972 ms  57.530 ms
13  78.152.57.87 (78.152.57.87)  177.854 ms  177.956 ms  178.052 ms
14  10ge-1-3-0.01-01.er2.buf1.colocrossing.com (75.127.11.230)  69.518 ms  71.591 ms  177.819 ms
15  host.colocrossing.com (192.3.204.90)  178.019 ms  177.849 ms  178.700 ms
16  host.colocrossing.com (192.210.198.203)  177.388 ms *  177.359 ms

This is the end of the route of a tracerout from a major backbone provider.

Here is one from another spot:

13    72 ms    64 ms    63 ms  207.88.12.135.ptr.us.xo.net [207.88.12.135]
14    63 ms    66 ms    71 ms  207.88.12.105.ptr.us.xo.net [207.88.12.105]
15    68 ms    68 ms    68 ms  216.156.0.250.ptr.us.xo.net [216.156.0.250]
16    166 ms    121 ms    120 ms  207.86.156.46
17    110 ms    133 ms    111 ms  10ge-1-3-0.01-01.er2.buf1.colocrossing.com [75.127.11.230]
18    128 ms    126 ms    141 ms  host.colocrossing.com [192.3.204.90]
19    130 ms    121 ms    154 ms  host.colocrossing.com [192.210.198.203]

That is another providers route, though FWIW XO is a budget ISP and ALWAYS has shitty routing. Companies use them for cheap backbone access.

None of the other 2 XI servers are on colocrossing datacenters or providers, though the EU one is paid for through same company they are using another provider on the back end to actually service it.

Those on some ISP and different geographical locations in the US might not see the issue if it uses another routing path but 2 I check are like that.

Most likely if these are host issues then they are temporary. We will just have to wait for a while to see if they get resolved.

It's happened twice, I would not make the assumption of a daily occurrence. Obviously I cannot speak for the host but usual restarts are every few months - I happen to know these restarts are concerning the HDD drivers. The TOD is chosen as it is the lowest daily traffic.

It's not really always related to the game server company, it's often the location chosen to host them as many of these game server companies share the same data center providers.

Sometimes you can ask them if they use another one in the same location and get flipped

TBH MOST of these game server companies are using another budget hosting company and are running these on virtual servers anyway.

It's one thing I have hated. EA limits the companies that can run the servers but doesn't impose rules on who they can use to host them really.

I wish they would let us build and host our own stuff.

We'll see if we can maybe talk to them and see if they have any other hosting providers in similar location they can move us to if no one has already.

Mine too was staying constantly at 235, no drift, normally sits right at 100. I first thought it was on my end, not once I quadrupled checked against our other servers and a couple of known good servers on the internet. Something is up!

I've had issues on that server since it was setup again.

I can play better on EU server with double ping vs it lol.

The US HC I always have packet loss going on sadly and I am in same time zone even.

Other thing to keep in mind is that server doesn't always stay that busy at the moment so a lot of times it has issues and no one is catching it but I generally do because I will go testing stuff on it or messing around killing time lol

Hell Yeah!

I have to admit as of late the server really sucks big time at the moment!! I used to ping around the 200+- but now I'm between 420 to 500.
