Sun sent me some links on some gaming keypads, they look pretty good. I have also started looking at gaming keyboards. Which is the best investment? Don't say gaming mouse, I have enough problems with the four options now on my mouse.

Thank you

I have the Logitech G13 and it's really good for the hand & fingers. There is just a time of adatapation to find his skill cause the handling is different from a normal keyboard. Drivers is good n possibility to create macro, profils & others...

I bought a Razer Nosotromo gamepad  back in April  but ended up selling it. It takes time to get it properly configured and to get used to it. I didn't like the thumb button all that much. Im using a RAzer Lycosa (backlit) keyboard and I think its great. I wish, however I could find a better mouse than the Razer Death Adder I have...I don't really wanna spend a lot of cash unless I know I will be getting something better. I don't use macros and all the fancy extra buttons and I find that configuring mice could be kinda difficult at times. I need to find a smoother, easy to use mouse...any suggestions? Thanks

Thanks for all of the free advice. After talking to Comfort, it ended up being a Logitech day. He said that it didn't make much sense to upgrade other stuff if I didn't have a decent headset or mouse. So I ended up ordering a Logitech G35 Headset and G500 Mouse. He recommended both. I also ordered a G13.

Nostromo:

or Logitech G-13:

Bottom line go with a gaming keypad whichever one you decide to choose. They are so much more comfortable to use and all keys and buttons are easily accessible.

Only way to go for FPS.

I have been using a Nostromo N52 for a couple years.

nostromo-n52.jpg

It is a Belkin product, but looks exactly like the G13 above, prolly the same product with a different brand name stuck on it.

Anyhoo, I *MUST* have it play now, I love it, I don't see how people can play with a regular keyboard.  It doesn't take long to get used to it, and resting your hand (just using your fingers) instead of holding your hand up takes a lot of stress & fatigue off your wrist.  Often I hear guys say "gonna take a break, need to rest my hand"....betchya they are using a regualr keyboard.

What I do a lot of the time when I play, is turn sideways and kick my feet up on a chair, prop my right elbow up on the desk to mouse with, and pull the keypad into my lap & lean back.  Very comfortable.   I tore my lower back up a few years ago carrying a 60 pound boat battery up steps, and this is a VERY comfortable-on-the-back way to play.  So effectively, I need the keypad for my back..... but it works great & I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Like it,I love it like my beer and weed.LOL I've got 12 games programed on the thing.Since i've been using it I have a hell of a time on the keyboard if I happen to forget to activate it.I wonder how I ever played on a keyboard. It actually does rest your hand and I never ever seem to get fatigued only my eyes LOL.

The G13 looks good ,but the only thing that stops me from trying it is the little hat key , If it was more like N52te  or Norstromo were you could remove it and use it like a thumb pad it would great, I use that a lot ..

I should add ,I use it for run and gun and for me it's good..But would like to try the G13  and see the difference..I know programing is suppose to be easier on the G13..

I don't think you will be disappointed. With just the G-35 headset and the G-13 game pad you will play significantly better as you get used to the game pad.

I use the G13. Took a week or so to get used to. Easy to set up and program.

I use the hat button as 4 more programmable buttons. It can be used as your WASD keys as well, but I found it made it hard to use the other keys...it was a bit too different from what I'm used to.

You'll have to pry this thing from my cold, dead fingers which will likely be on the WASD cluster when rigor mortis sets in (hopefully not for a while, we can't all be old like you Idiots Laughing):

I also have been using the N52 for a number of years now.  Love it.  Took some time to get use to it as any controller would.  It is definitely a preference thing as some prefer the keyboard but I found my preference with this.

Zboard, edited by Steelseries now.  Confortable, BUT some driver issues...   You can exchange with regular keyboard... Macros and a lot of personalisation possible
