i do this all the time Chile... Beer Butt Chicken we calls it. The kids love when i make it, they get a laugh when i play around with the chicken making it dance with a half can of beer in its ass LOL. Try it with Keiths Cider Beer,,, VERY good!

Mmmmmm... beer can chicken. I got a little rack too where you can put the beer in the middle and then put the chicken over top that way but I do like sounds of the butter mix paste he had going on there. Will have to try that this summer.

I make this pretty frequently. I use a dry rub on the chicken - some spice mixture I found on the interwebs made of brown sugar and a bunch of other stuff like cumin, chili powder, etc. I find that the type of beer I use can make a difference in overall flavor. I really like it with a Capitol Brewery Supper Club beer. For Easter this year I made two of them at the same time.

Did mostly the same way but instead of the famous daves, i used Webers- Kick'n Chicken. turn out real good!

LOOKS GOOD HEMPS. I'm doing 2 today with teriyaki...and a rack of ribs. All hickory smoked. at least 4 hours for the chickens and 7 hours for the ribs...bout 300 to 350. If i dont drink too much beer i'll try to take pics. I'm glad you enjoyed it Chile.....

I had Mercy lay out stuff to grill for tonight, but after being out in the yard all day cutting up logs, I am just too beat to do it. It's all thawed out and in the fridge, I'll do it tomorrow. No drunk chicken this time, just little drummetes and pork chops.

Havent tried it myself, but the person who told me about it the first time said you don't want to use a dark beer. I just used a light beer on mine, at the time I was drinking Silver Bullets.

Not sure how it would turn out, try it and let us know.

silver bullet baby!!!!SUPERCOLD!!!!

I smoked with mesquite for 2 1/2 hours at 275 to 325.....not much for the beer flavor, but oh is that chicken moist!!!!!
