  • Just by looking at what you posted, and not looking into the details of each thing for compatibility issues, the only thing I see that I would change is the Power Supply. i would advise a larger wattage. 600watts just seems minimal to me. I always like to give the system plenty more than it requires, it keeps it from working so hard all the time.

If that i5 doesn't do any more than "turboboost," get a different one, or a different MoBo. You want full OC'ing ability. Most i5 and i7 chips will make at least 4GHz without breaking a major sweat. Need proper cooling, though, which you don't have. Which brings me to...

Crap cooler. Never a stock cooler if you want to OC. Get something like a CORSAIR Hydro Series H80.

What's the timing specs on that memory? Can't evaluate system performance without knowing the memory timing. 8GB is fine, though. More is better, of course.

Insufficient power supply. 750W is absolute minimum. Over 1000W for that CPU and GPU is overkill. I run an i7-950 OC to 4.2GHz and a 660Ti with a 750W without problems, but if I started having problems, the PS is the first replacement I will make.

recommend 2ea WD 2TB Black drives or at least 2ea. WD 1TB Black drives. One for the sole purpose of backup and system image. Don't skimp here.

Yes on Win8 64bit. (Not Win8 RT, of course, because that's not "real" windows. Don't get burned; know the difference.)

Who's building this thing? You? Who spec'ed it?

Rock on! :)

2k? sheesh Don't get the i5 then.

I would atleast get the i7 2600k.

And 16gb GSkill Ripjaws memory kits are $79.95 on Newegg.Great memory for the money.

Don't skimp out on a cheaper Motherboard or Power supply.

Your looking at around $300 for a good Motherboard (Asus Maximus V Formula is a good board)

$330 for i7 2600k CPU

$100 for memory

$200 for power supply (Corsair AX850 850watt )

so around $900 so far.

GTX 670 is $360 on Newegg (Great price).

2x 2TB WD Black 64mb cache HDDs $320.(OR you could get 1 Bigger SSD drive for around $250 and get 1 1.5TB drive for storage $89)

Corsair H80 CPU cooler $90 (Best $90 I've ever spent btw)

That leaves around $200-300 for the small bits and a case.

Now THAT will be a good reliable and fast gaming PC.

Nice an aluminum case with water cooler. That's going to keep her super cool for sure.

Price seems a bit high but that's one heck of a PC.

I LOVE aluminum PC cases. With the fans running the case is basicly a big heat sink.My old Antec P160W was AWESOME but it was an older design and my water cooler would not fit without cutting the top out to mount my radiator.

It had no place to mount a 120mm radiator.

http://www.hardwarel...les.php?id=5188

Instead of cutting it up I sold it and bought another case.
