Open your console and change these two settings as needed. 36 is standard sized. Find one that works for you. I assume they could go in your configs as well but never tried.

lol nope, that's what it was at. I don't recall setting it in the past either. It's one of the first reasons I never bothered with care packages before because I didn't know how people knew what they were until I noticed that tiny icon.

@ your "thing" is really tiny. I had to really really look for it. I don't think that's default alpha something is messed up in your config. I can see icons on teammate's CPs from middle of the map or something to that effect. I remember when you called a CP and you got artillery, I came running by asking if I can open it, you were NOT generous.

A thought....

 

If you get hit with a stun grenade you are limited to cod4 default style jumping and speed for 30 seconds. Meaning speed and jumping as it was meant to be. Those of you that actually still play cod4 with standard settings know what I am talking about.

Small temp change. In suddendeath there is now a forced uav that shows the location of everybody. Regardless of whether or not you have stealth. The purpose is to help deal with matches that end in no winner because there are too many 'draw' rounds. Either because people camp or a map is simply a little too big for players to attack each other. Not a panacea and might introduce its own issues to consider but an interesting change nonetheless to see how it works.

 

Post here what you think after playing a few matches with it.

This might be unfair, specially when you take wall spamming in to consideration. If ending the rounds quicker is the goal, lets make the regular rounds shorter and say 3 minute. 

 

I may have missed the topic, but we have another issue. In Overtime, the scoreboard shows more players than are actually alive. We have often ended up in draw or lost the round because the scoreboard showed more people alive then were actually alive.

You mean the 'tab' scoreboard or the hud elements next to the frozen icon? The tab scoreboard is engine controlled and correct. Dead is dead. However if the hud element is not correct let me know. Could be its not updating correctly when sudden death starts.

One issue is if sudden death starts with 8 vs 1 or something like that. So while imo the theory is sound yes I agree that it can be pretty unfair. Therefore thinking about variations on that idea so that it is. Maybe in addition to uav do pistols only. Maybe do forced uav for the first 30 seconds only. Stuff like that.  Open to other ideas. However if nothing works well then that's ok also.

- Yes, I am speaking of the icon on the top left. It does not update correctly, quite often teams draw or win/lose because it is not reflecting the actual number of players left alive.

 

- I think one sweep of forced UAV at the beginning of Overtime would be good enough. Everyone gets to see where everyone is and then they can make the best use of their memory.

The short uav should be simple enough to do. Maybe 10 seconds. Pistols only with always-on uav could be fun. Gotta get really close. Yes I know people that do nothing but snipe wouldnt like it. But since sniper loadouts come with a pistol we should all expect that snipers be proficient at using it. A sniper wont get his wa2000. But the other guy doesnt get his 308. :lol:

I think forcing a weapon upon players or limiting the choices won't be very popular. For example, I could say let's make it tube only or SMAW only. Anyhow, my point is a 10 second UAV is minimally forcing though which is what makes it interesting and fair at the same time.

What about increasing the over time time limit? I always thought it should be unlimited until there is a victor anyway.

The uav in OT only appears on the minimap and not the big map (when you press escape) normally it would always appear on the big map as well.

From what I've seen, it usually happens when an alive person gets booted/disconnected in OT and keeps their count as if alive.

 

Weird thing just happened, I was spectating people and somehow I ended up in 3rd person view. I don't have a keybind for that. It stayed that way until the round ended. I was just switching between who I was spectating.

Did you press V or melee to get out of 3rd person?

 

Forgot about the big map. I will add that. Might try something like a 10 second sweep at the beginning of each minute in OT. Which in this case, with a 2 minute OT, means two of them.

No the V/melee doesnt work no more. Though that was nice and unfair way to rat out the enemy.

k different basic version. Should work but never got a chance to test it online because none of the matches went to OT. Uses the standard always-on that shows the dots for a moment when you fire a non-silenced weapon. The other idea, of a short scan showing everybody for 5-10 seconds each minute, should work but might have to do a hud alteration to make it work right and include the esc tacmap. Not %100 sure yet. May be able to without it.

Oh and I forget, last night, when using a killstreak perk that puts you in something (car, predator, etc), once you got out, the uav no longer showed. Figured it was related to it only showing on the small minimap.

I do not like the idea of UAV in ot, it is unfair, there are players that do a hell of a job to not die till ot and to make them visible for the enemies is not fair. Just keep it the way it is!

Currently for this addition, its visible for a few seconds at that spot if you fire a non-silenced weapon. The method tried yesterday was unfair when teams were too one-sided and I agree it was one step below a wall hack. Especially for wall spammers.

 

Anyways, there is nothing wrong with trying new ingredients to an old recipe. Sometimes its a good one (defroster emp) sometimes its not. In which case go to the next one and try it. Chef's like to try new things and find some interesting mixes but in the end there is no substitute for patrons to try it and give feedback. That is how they discover new things. Thank you for yours. :thumbup:
