A couple days ago I installed the recommended updates for Windows 10 and ever since then I have been getting a notice from Windows 10 to restart for the application of the updates. I have rebooted about a dozen times and it still says it. It refers me to notices to set up a time for that to tale place but when I click the tab it never opens. I turned all the crap off and I keep getting a notice to try Office for 30 days and it won't open either. Is there something I need to do to shut all this down nor get the pc to recognize the updates have already be installed and rebooted?

Check for updates and see what is available....(click start, click check for updates), make a note of available updates, then click update....reboot and recheck to see available updates. If there are still updates available...post them here.

I hate Windows 10. It is always doing something and I hate that. I want my PC to do what I want it to.. not what it wants to without my knowledge. Not a good OS at all.

Per the link above, I would disable any protection you have running and retry updating...

Well in Windows 10 I finally turned off all my notices and so far it has worked like a charm IF Microsoft doesn't turn it back on. I had to go to settings then select notices and turned it off! Sure is nice not having that notice popping up every 5 minutes!

This should be the final post for this thread. After I had turned off all notices I was surfing and I got a notice telling me to schedule a more convenient time to update. I did but did it wrong and there is another option there that syas select now so I did. That began the installation process that lasted well over and hour. It told me they made some updates to certain features. It also said I would be excited about those updates. OH JOY!!!! (sarcastically)
