GPA's in two colleges, one in each state?

Hmm?

If'n those be "dollars per gallon" gasoline prices, they are relatively cheap, by Alaska standards . . .

Lol, "Blues Clues," I'm just joshin' you, man.

if there is roughly 4 liters to a US gallon, I think you are a about 5.40 a gallon.  DAM, I think I'm going to just shut up about how much gas is here

If you had to travel the distances you do in USA and Aussie paying UK fuel prices you'd be broke, but a major part of our prices are tax. On the downside you generally have huge engines with auto boxes and poor efficiency. It will hit us petrol heads hard when petrol and diesel are phased out by law, so enjoy it now, electric (or whatever) are not so exciting, at least to me. Petrol is like whisky, made here but cheaper to buy abroad, we mortals never saw any benefits fron North Sea oil. Some areas in country near here are charging £1.43 a litre 2.04 US a litre, don't moan

BDS, bud, you want us to send you Vaseline because you're expecting a visit from the California governor and his cronies, what?

Use "Crisco" shortening if you're hard up, bud--@TBB said it works just fine.

McRib, bud, give that advice to BDS when the governor and his cronies come to visit him.

LMAO.

Sorry, guys.

Our Prudhoe Bay oil fields are amongst the largest proven reserves in the country, yet all of our crude oil gets shipped via oil tankers (Exxon Valdez, anyone?) to California or Texas--depending on who has available refining capacity--to get refined, whereby they ship the resulting gasoline and other fuel products back to Alaska for resale.

@bds1961, you wanna share some of that Crisco?

We don't use measures like that here which is why I used a calculator to convert litres into American gallons for you.

If someone says "ounces" to me, I think of the sixteen in every pound of weight (but, of course, our foodstuffs are generally labelled in the metric system nowadays).

According to a former Customer of mine, who is a ship's Captain since 1962 piloting Tankers full of fuel into New Jersey and Rhode Island, the USA is the Diesel Capital of the world and that is the main Fuel Type we Refine. He explained to me me that most Gasoline is refined in other countries and Tankers arrive to the USA full of Gasoline.  Then we fill them with Diesel and send them back. This way Tankers never go abroad empty.

This explains much why Diesel is so expensive in the USA (10 to 20% more than 87 octane Gasoline)  because your paying for American Hands to refine it plus OSHA, DEP, State and Fed Regulations. Foreign country's can do the much harder Gasoline refining for much cheaper than the USA can. Many have Zero Regulations and the pay is much lower. The USA does alter the gasoline to meet every different State it goes too, to fit their individual regulations also.

Diesel is much easier to refine than Gasoline (being Diesel is 40 cetane and Gasoline is 87 octane)

Can you imagine how much more a Gallon of Gasoline would be to refine in the USA with American Workers?

It's like having an I-Phone built here, could we afford it?

Sad But true....

You Know why Diesel is my Favorite Fuel?

Because it has the word "DIE" already there!!!!!!

Get the Hint?

Yea easy, you take two pecks from a bushel, divide by a long ton minus a short ton, add three gills and the answer is in scruples easy to convert to gallons from that you can get us gallons, piece of cake :(
