I see no issue with it after reading these two lines:

Quote

The system can be overridden temporarily. If a car is overtaking a lorry on a motorway and enters a lower speed-limit area, the driver can push down hard on the accelerator to complete the manoeuvre.

A full on/off switch for the system is also envisaged, but this would lapse every time the vehicle is restarted.

The only need for speeding is to overtake, but if you really want to drive faster, you can disable it every time you get in the car...but, now if something happens if you're caught for speeding...which is illegal...they know you knowingly and willingly violated the law...no more "sorry I didn't know"

Castration of rapist .

Only these two things on its own is a better solution for a better world.

I honoustly don't see anything wrong with this, in fact....I embrace it. I must admit, I barely ever brake any rule and some may consider me a boring focker (proud of it), but why would you want a car that can drive 200+ km/h when there is literally no place in the world where it is allowed to go that fast (except for racing circuits)? All the rule does is preventing people from trying to be a "bad ass", show off, 'be in a hurry'  and drive fast on a regular road, endangering other peoples' lifes.

The 'I want to take my own decision' arguement that some people present, is totally way out of line, becasue the last decades showed that the vast majority cannot comply with this rule. For instance, every minute there are four people being caught speeding, in the UK alone. Around 1.25 million people die every year due to traffic accidents and 20-30% of all traffic accidents worldwide are due to speeding.
If I were a 'I want to be able to make my own decision' kinda guy in this matter, I would be happy to be overruled by these statistics.

I bet you half of the sheeple would buy a stat that says most deaths occur in your own home....

So would you support the Gov. putting a camera in your house to insure your....."Safe"?

If people are dumb enough to believe it, the Feds are brave enough to say it and do it!

This is exactly like saying,

"Your Coffee Pot only consumes 1000 watts of power, why do you need 200 AMP service to your home when all that power will kill you?"

A man and his car used to be a sacred thing.

Now it's become a Hamsters wheel that not only costs 4 times what it should, but now they control your speed and 60% of the parts are made in China!
