My table mate has this brand new Motorola cell and during the set up they accidentally selected a language that sounds like Chinese. Tho I checked in the settings and the only language there is US English. It uses Google as the search engine but I can't figure out how to access Google settings to check in there for a variance from English. I would appreciate any help and or ideas to get this thing where he can use it so it's not talking in Chinese. Thank you for any assistance.

I have used Motorola phones forever and have had to do hard factory reset, which means reset through fast boot menu, make sure you know the Gmail address and password before doing it tho.

If you can't get it fixed through that way gimme a message and I'll see what I can do to help you

Press the Power button to restart in Recovery mode. If you see an Android robot with a red exclamation mark, press & hold the Power button and, while holding it down, press & release the Volume up button. Use the Volume buttons to scroll to Wipe data/factory reset, then press the Power button to select it or may try the owner's password

I would say, take another phone, download the Google translate app and use the feature where you can make a picture and let Google recognize the language itself. So basically use that phone to make a pic of the motorola phone and try to find the right settings like that?

I've used that app before making pictures of Hebrew food and cosmetic packaging and it worked very well

I like this solution thinking outside the box. Excellent idea
