Well everyone for those of you that have the Steam Version of COD 2 like me I have some info about the installation. First let me say that yes I do have the CD Version of COD 2 but had serious install issues on Windows 7 so when I saw yesterday that Steam had Call Of Duty and Call Of Duty 2 on sale for $9.99 each I had to buy them assuming that Steam made sure they would run on their platform, I HATE STEAM. Well, I installed the games and they would not launch. In my games list it said it was running but no game launch. I was like oh I forgot to make it Run As Administrator so I went into the application and checked Run As Administrator. Oh by the way Compatibility Mode has to be unchecked. Thought I was set and tried to launch the game. I clicked on play ready to go and an error popped up saying, FAILED TO FIND STEAM, are you kidding me I am in Steam and the game can't find it. So I put my thinking cap on and thought well all games run off a .dll file so let me see. I went into the Call Of Duty 2 Main folder and guess what? Steam did not add a STEAM.dll file to the Call Of Duty 2 folder or a .dll file to redirect the game to the main STEAM.dll to get the game to launch. So I copied the STEAM.dll file from the main Steam folder and put it in the main Call Of Duty 2 folder. I then launched the game and it worked Call Of Duty 2 ran just fine after I put the Steam.dll file in the Call Of Duty 2 folder. I was even in the Extreme Idiots Call Of Duty 2 Death Match server running around checking it out...... I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY WITH YOU ALL IN COD 2. If there is a previous post in the forums about this subject I am sorry for the repeat. Anyway, I HATE STEAM, I HATE STEAM, I HATE STEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would just like to say Thanks to Loader and all that make this event happen. And to loader for all the help in getting my game to run. These are the kinda of things that make so Proud to member of this great family. I don't even treated this nice by my own family . Have not played in a while. Couldn't !!! A month ago I was getting out of the recliner and hit the floor. Freaking leg cramp out the ass !!! While the extreme floor dropping pain subsided after about 15 minutes, it still hurt like hell. So... several Dr. visits later, I have to have lower back surgery. Couple small rods and removal of part of L5. So from L3 thru S1, I will be braced up. Everything is pressing on spinal cord and sciatic nerve. After a month of non stop pain I finally got an injection (prednazone) and that has helped tremendously. That injection (which I can have more) hopefully will last me a few months until surgery. Ive already had three cervical fusions in prior years, so Im gonna be bolted up from top to bottom !!! Almost. Anyhoot, I will hopefully get some play time between now the then !!! While the extreme leg pain is better, my ASS BONE still drives me nuts. So I cant sit for long. Sucks, but Ive been through this shit before with my neck. Hope to frag someone soon !!!
