So after a few days of going back and forth to Tiger Direct store here in Dallas. I got all the parts I needed to make some changes to my old system. And when I say old, I means 3-4 years. I just wanted some new toys to play with. So here are my new specs. Not sure If they are good enough to consider me for a Kick Ass Rig metal. But still fast as hell.

Nice!

What's the model number of your ASUS motherboard? That could be seen on the box easy.

Those 6 cores Phenom IIs are really aggressively priced. That takes care of CPU-bound games for quite a bit!

I see a Raid O array for storage and 16Gb of RAM...good stuff.

i think you deserve the medal. right now for price vs performance i think amd is leading 6 cores for dirt cheap, also overlockable easy, but ive heard amd runs a bit hotter than intel not sure if its certain chips or what, but amd is rockin, my first game pc was amd, it was a since core amd 3400+ i think, infact i still got it

Gorilla: Did you just bought the 5770 or you carried it over from the previous rig?

I Fuerza: I also had a Athlon 64 3400+ back in 2004. It was a really great CPU back in the day! I remember forking $429 CDN for that CPU when it came out. The A64s were kicking Intel's butt back then!

It's the same card I've had for about the past year or so.

Oke just change the card in the future  for that system  but the 5770  is good for now

I   have a amd  system to (965  quad core 3.4ghz/ hd ati 6870) ,  my  son has now  intel I7 (2600K) and nvidea card  (560TI)

So i think you can get a medal for it.

Gorilla, the reason I ask, is that this HD5770 is equivalent to a GTX260...so, that being said, the day you wanna upgrade, a HD6950 would be a good upgrade, if you're willing to stick to AMD/ATI...The 6950, I'd look for a 2GB version of course, would be a LOT more powerful, pretty much 2.5 times....

I guess it depends on the game you play. In COD games, a 5770 is probably really good. In Crysis and stuff, well, you need more power, unless you drop the settings to medium I guess...

but give a kick-ass medal to this guy!!!!
