No problem  The site was made in 2006, a little to late for my high school years, but reading some of the blogs it made me somewhat understand what was going through my friends head when he shot himself back when we were in high school.

Ruso...i applaud you for even attempting to offer some help to anyone with this topic in mind. Most folks just kinda shrug and say" man, that's sad" and move on, but you sound like you have strong conviction and motivation to help those that really need it. Good luck to you and i hope you are able to make a difference for folks that really need it.

ive had some hard times, but i always remind myself of the good things in life, like eating steak or my passion for driving cars and also my dog who is great. When something bad is happening you have to remember that it will not last for ever. Also id never want to die cuz once your dead your dead. you dont come back. i hope this helps

Like Billy said, props to you ruso...I sincerely wish you nothing but the best.

We've all had some hard times that we've been through but the way I have always tried to view events in my life is with perspective...we will never be given something we can't handle. I'm 36 years old and I have been through some times that I honestly can't believe I made it through. My daughter being on her deathbed when she was born 13 weeks early and weighing only 2 pounds, a divorce after I found out my wife was having an affair with one of my good friends and starting a company from nothing basically living below poverty for quite some time to end up making it successful and coming out on top.

Life will always hand you challenges and knock you down...what makes you who you are is when you can get back up. You are young and have your whole life, a long one, ahead of you. You will find true love and that woman will truly love you for who you are, not what they want you to be or to try and change you. You will be able to be yourself and she herself with you. Maybe some day you will have children who will become your pride and joy and you will live vicariously through them as you'll be old and washed up like me.

Your family and friends love you and with their support, you made it through this...always remember that. Never miss a chance to tell them how much they mean to you and remember how much you mean to them.

Congrats on beating this and good luck to you in the future bud.

Flushy

Ruso I really do understand the feeling of being separated from society even in a large crowd. I have felt that for years and had no idea that I was heading down a dangerous road. For years I just kept all my feelings hidden and out of site! I am 57 years old now and about 3 yrs ago it all came to a head. My favorite lil dog died prematurely and the wife left me directly after that and decided she was gay! We weren't happy and this finally gave us the strength to do what had to be done. I had major issues while working and my boss was very understanding and wanted me to keep working but I hurt way to bad to do that. I devised a plan to end it for me but when the ex tied to kill herself I saw what the effect was on our kids who are all adults, so I couldn't do that to them. I decided to go to school after I quit work but was bad enough that I couldn't handle the stress from that. I had to go the hardest road I have ever walked before and now 2 years after the divorce I am happier than I have been in years and I have been ale to reach many through my experiences. One thing I have noticed is I am more open and honest about myself and who I am than ever in my life. If you ask a question make sure you are ready for the answer because you will hear my honest answer. Council be be very careful. You very well know the dangers of saying the wrong things. God bless you for helping.

I am serious, life is not about drama like a stage play. People need to get about their business and confront issues without the drama.

I used to think like that to Shamu....but I have come to realize that mental illness is not something that can be understood by those of us not suffering....

My dad fell into depression after divorce from my mother...who turned out to be cruel and evil...

He wasnt himself...I was like whats going on man...snap out of it...its all goig to be fine....whats bothering you...snap out of it....over and over....I couldnt understand what he was going through...he taught me growing up that we as men dont get weak, dont have moments, are invincible....so I couldnt see it...

Until that day in 2008 that he didnt show up at work....

I went to get him...and it was to late....

I didnt respond to this post at all as I didnt understand where it was going and whatit was even all about, but I do know that mental illness is REAL....I just wish I knew it sooner....:(

Forgive me if I'm speaking out of turn here. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. However is a gaming community website really the place to be discussing this?

Sort of my point. There are professional ways to handle emotional issues, a website such as this to me seems out of place and more of a reachout for attention rather than serious help. Hence my drama opinion.

Call me skeptical if you wish but even if I am right help is needed either way. I just call into question the reason.

Family, friends, doctors and social services are the best resources available, not here.

You run into people like me who would just say shut up and man up.

Glad you are doing better. Never forget that tomorrow would not be the same without you. Life has cold moments, but they pass. Never use a permanent solution for a temorary problem. I have been down my share of rough roads, as most of us have, and found that each dawn still brought a new day filled with possibilities. God is a grand Creator, and you his finest work. Get out there and tell your story, and encourage others, there are many who are lonely and desperately need to know that someone cares.

Be Pono!

I use to think people used it to get out of their responsibilities just as you seem too, but when it hit me MY EYES were opened so wide I could look into anybody elses mind if they spoke to me. I knew how they felt without them telling me! I can't do that anymore unless I feel that same mind freezing pain that hurts worse than any physical pain you can imagine. I never ever want to go back to that! Shamu IT IS REALLLLL!!!!!

Ruso bro, to try and help suicidal people when you are depressed, or on the edge , is like an alcoholic working at a vodka factory. It only validates the negatives that you also see. If you were over your state this subject wouldn't even be brought up by you. I know this isn't psych 4 forum but nobody in >XI< wants to see anyone hurt or fail no matter--I know all these guy's and gals and they ALL care or they wouldn't be taking their time to write anything if they didn't--so.... +#1

#2 quit wallowing in it and surround yourself with positive people. Positive people tend to associate with positive people and bring each other up, and vice versa.

You have many things that are great but you focus on what you don't or "should" have. It is a process but just try and think about when something makes you feel bad--which is where your brain will go directly when a problem arises, and divert it--think about what a good thing that --maybe this happened to test me and see if I can overcome this....and you will, and the more you do that the easier it becomes. To try and make others feel better when you hurt ,is temporary, but to make yourself feel better so as to help other people, will change everyone's life. :good:
