Since people don't wanna redirect and startup the other server, I'm gonna try to up the slots and see how high we can go before we start lagging. I will need feedback so please post here. I will start with upping it to 32

If you are gonna up the slots to a high standerd a would suggest taking another look at your map rotation. As a few maps already are dencely crowded in a full server, an increase in people could trow these 'small' maps completely off balance. But good idea Rugger!

Was just on it for awhile with 31 and it seemed fine to me.

If it ever gets a server crash due to too many entities, too many variables, or something like that let me know. In this server it would be usual to happen since its relatively slow gameplay compared to FFA or TDM but with 31-32 players I dont know. In general 30 is the max I have ever seen any OW-based server but they usually have alot of health packs and weapon pickups.

Seems good but some maps are really small..... when we're on the max people.

32 slots is too much no?

 

Server is ok but there are too many small maps, really. Each time we're full this is just full random nades, random tubes, random explosives crossbow. Too much confusion on the map, can't have a real tactic. Many maps have just some littles places to hide and artillery or airstrike are killin us through walls/roofs. No really fun, my opinion. Fortunatly there are some maps with tunnels :smoke:

Open Warfare does make it possible to set up small/medium/large rotations based on server load. The server checks at the end of rounds and the end of the game. Based on population it will chose which is the next map in the three rotations. If Rugger and the admins wish to try it I will be happy to set up some example rotations. Our goal, from the outside of server ownership and operations etc, is to offer ways that might help improve things if desired. Or might not. :welcome:

 

I did get killed once by artillery in the d2c map when indoors so specific maps might have unusual cases when checking whether or not there is a ceiling overhead. I will look into it.

Just my opinion.......but large maps with a lot of people equates to a VERY LONG game. I like the small maps mixed in with the large ones.

we are getting these 128 bones error alot more lately dont think its because of the slots as it started doing it b4 u upped the slots on server tho

your just playing at the wrong times exe cause seems like we play more the bigger maps alot lately

yea but if you set up rotation like that then it will only play the big maps no small ones as this server is always heavy with traffic...the big maps are starting to get boring when they take forever and turnover rate is high on the really big ones as it is

Indirectly, yes a bigger server is having an effect. Insofar as there is a greater chance of it happening. So...... two things.....

 

For this server I PM'd the appropriate server cfg changes that will shut off the ACR, which is likely the main cause of the problem. Until then please dont use it and if you see anybody that does please ask them not to use it either and change their class to Scar-h or something else.

 

Along with all the other things it should be fixed in the new server. But it seems round time limit is set at 1 minute.

ya i agree biger maps takes to long ! personaly i like it more with les slots like before.
