I have a question. When I get my boat over 100 knots it wants to lift off the water. How can I fix that? Some have said there is a problem with my boats design.

Sounds like you got a lemon. I had a Honda blow 4 head gaskets but it was a car, I was a teenager and drove like an idiot.

bad model bf 130 they replaced the whole power head before my 3rd year was up then gave me 7 more years warranty. a total 10 years warranty . then this head went now i have to pay for it . don't mind just can't find a new head . bought a honda oddessy years back 86-87 from an auction . it was stolen , the motor blew and i wasn't the original owner honda without hesitation honda installed a new motor in it .oddessy if your not sure was like a dune buggy for one sort of thing ? guess with that kinda warranty with the history i had with honda i stay with their products .they stand behind them .

We have not seen that many problems with honda's. But I do know that there production was severely hit by the tsunami. Honda does seem to stand behind there products.

Damage I was in Construction until the bottom fell out of everything, so I had to fall back on an old career. They say Im too old and only want to pay about half of what I was making before. I am too old for that kind of stress at that price...............lol. Or maybe I am just getting grumpy................

If the heads gone 4 times why you keep going back to it ?? Look at an aftermarket make that is suppose to be of better quility ?? That or there's this old engine that runs off of sailboat fuel great milage.

where is the crack on the head or block, if block then its awhole motor fix

heres a shop manaul for bf130.pdf

if were me i'd find where is cracking and have a machine shop make a cyl thicker in crack area or take to welding shop that does tig welding

if in water jacket area points to thermastat failure or timing to late causing overheat

Welding an aluminum casting is tricky at best. Especially one that sees the stresses of combustion/heating cooling cycles. Best bet is a new head. Had some success welding castings, but it's a 50-50 proposition, and nothing I'd risk getting stranded on the water for. Honda generally has high quality parts, but they have been doing the out-source crap lately too. "Honda" no longer means made exclusively in Japan.

I still run a 2-cycle OMC 115. Grew up with frang-dangers and can't part with mixing my own oil.

hmmm just what i thought out source .... my honda dealer says NOOOO they won't do that . i told them they should i'd have parts and they would have $$$$ . they blame the tsunami it took out the casting plant or something like that . so anyone else that needs a bf 130 head get in the back of the line THE 1ST ONE IS MINE :hrhr: .
