Folks,

There may be some who could use this video card tweak. Most video cards have a default number of frames, and we need to open that range.

Open the console, before coming in game, using the tilde key.

Type in.../com_maxfps 0 (This opens up your video card frame range to infinity)

Then, type in... /cg_drawfps 1 (This will show you in game, just what your fps actually are...)

I hope this is helpful...

SOB the card will go up and down as required depending on where you look or where you are in the game.I know on COD 5 I hit over 400 fps and go down to 90 sometimes. The way he is showing you makes the card variable and not fixed like at 125fps.I'm not to good at explaining myself, his way makes the card run to its maximum potential without damaging the card.

Yeah ok Johnny but there must be a starting frame rate at least is there? or does putting command in make it variable?

125 or 250 are good , but never set it to 0, It will cause over heating of the card and will decrease your performance , by having to recalculate all the time (going up and down fps) just set and forget it, Set 0 if you want to see how high it will go , but put it back down , It better to have a good steady FPS then have it always going up and down.

The best way is to play with the cap limit and find what your card can actually do. up to a certain point, then you should set it to cap around the bottom average.

If you range from say 95 to 150, I would cap just slightly above the 95, the fluctiatuation is a waste of resources in my opinion.

They say the human eye can't see a difference after 60fps, personally it needs to be above 100fps before I stop seeing a difference.

My card barley goes over 50C and I have all the settings maxed out.I play FC3 & MOHWF no problems.Oh and no cooling just fans.but I'll put it back down just to see if I play any better.LOL

Seems to run smoother when you have a fixed fps ........

yes and the vid card does not have to work so hard.........

I found that Setting it to run at Max FPS will hurt your game play quite a bit. Some times it will run at 800fps and some times at 550 close quarters.I like to set mine up to run MAX till I find it's sweet spot.Set your card to run 1/2 of your minimal FPS.So if your running at 800 minimal fps,set it to 400 and for 400 set it to 200 ect ect.

This does help quite a bit with performance and stability.I never lag with it set like this unless I'm on the FT MW Beta server then every time I shoot it lags for some reason. But I'm not alone with this problem.
