Alaska man accused of robbing bank with a hammer

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – An Anchorage man has been arrested after authorities say he robbed a downtown bank with a hammer.

Court documents say 61-year-old Alan Bronson Rice threatened a Key Bank teller with the hammer on Wednesday and briefly got away with more than $1,000.

The documents allege he pulled the hammer from a bag, put it on the counter and told the teller: "I need your money."

The Anchorage Daily Newsexternal-link.png reports a Good Samaritan followed Rice as he left the bank, and pointed him out to a responding officer. Rice has been jailed on felony bank robbery charges.

Well, it didn't say what kind of hammer he brandished. If it was a framing claw hammer, I wouldn't be above taking it away from him. A 3lb engineer's hammer.....hmmm, that can cause some serious damage if it connects. JK, Kodos to the Marine who stopped him.

A few posts back I mentioned a Louisville slugger we keep under our bed. Also keep a bag of regulation baseballs. Whenever Lori wakes me up because she "heard" something, a baseball goes with me. If you've ever been knocked by a baseball thrown 60+ mph, you know what effect that can have.

Ass raping in modern prisons doesnt happen as often as you might think. But lets think realistically...gonna get ass raped metaphorically either way you go.

my middle finger says hello TBB.

I think we should ban all tools especially hammers. Someone is going to get hurt. I hope no kid brings a toy one to school and pretends to hammer a nail. Way worse that a hello kitty bubble gun.

Now wouldn't that be funny.... rob a bank with a hello kitty bubble gun. hahahaa

We live in some pathetic times.

If you can chop down the mightiest tree in the forest with one, you could surely commit a murder with one. I say we need more herring control in the country! We simple MUST ban ALL assault herring at once! I call to congress to take sweeping and global measures to protect our citizens, young and old from the evils of assault herring. This includes the liberal media's glamorous portrayal of assault herring in television programming such as cooking shows that encourage the use of assault herring in a healthy diet, as well as sport fishing programs and video games that glorify the acquisition (mostly by illegal means) and more horrifically, the use of assault herring.
