Hey man go to this site http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html and look around at the number before you make a decision. I would say spend as much as you can afford on your new video card because that part is the biggest bottleneck in games today. Most cpus are good enough to feed any gpu these days. Just don't go for a card that is over 400.00 for just a few frame rates. Pick your happy medium on price and performance. Also you need to take into consideration your screen size and resolution that you will use. I currently run these specs...

AMD 8120 8core (I know the Intel fans will jump all over this but for the price and performance this is what I wanted so please don't hate) :realmad:

Coolermaster 430 case

Coolermaster 212 evo

Gigabyte 990x mobo

(2) 2 tetrabyte hard drives. 1 main 1 backup

16 gig ram crucial ballistix

pro 750 xfx powersupply

still running old soundblaster fatality pro sound card

xfx 6950 2 gig video card.

dvd burner

the radeon 6870 is a good card at under 200

the nvidia 660 is good for a card less than 300

the nvidia 660 TI for a little over 300 ( its overclocked)

or if you just have money to burn the new asus gtx 690 fore 999.99 WOW :w00t:

What's your budget. Let's start there. No sense trying to recommend something you can't afford. Heck, we all want a dual 3GB SLI configuration, but that doesn't mean we get it.

That said, your config will certainly handle this nicely and be one kick-ass system:

MSI N680GTX Twin Frozr 4GD5/OC

or for a little less, but still kick-ass:

MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 OC 2GB GDDR5

As you can see, I'm a little partial to MSI and to NVIDIA. EVGA is a good company, too, where NVIDIA cards are concerned.

I always check this list. If you can't upgrade three levels from your current card, don't bother.. you will see no improvement.

I'm running 2x EVGA GTX 680's, 2Gb. Sweet frame-rates at high graphic levels, though one would be more than enough. I'm an over-clocker and I hack the crap out of my hardware (custom firmware on the video cards to unlock voltages and other goodies to boost overclocks) . These are top-notch cards, though you can get 95% of the performance at a better price with the 670's.

Just saw this...Good deals on the nVidia 660's and 670's. You can add another one later on to give yourself a serious performance boost if you need it.
