I have already pre-ordered BF4, I would say 90% of BF3 players will make the jump to BF4, new game, weapons, vehicles and so forth

Do not pre-order anything.

My experience is that being first in is more often than not wasted money. I have many FPS games I never should have bought. Take some sage advice and wait.

Wait and see how it develops before investing. It's not like it's going to disappear on you if you do not pre-order.

Pre ordering often gets you a better deal, i will be pre ordering when i find the cheapest deal, i think after BF3 we can expect another great game in BF4, i would assume we will be running a server to see if it takes off or not, just my opinion.

Don't know if anyone posted the video yet, but it looks pretty sweet :)

Pre-ordering depends on how much money you have....if you have a lot, I'd say go for it, but if  you are looking to save, I would just wait until it is out for a bit. $60 for a game is too expensive for my budget, so I'll probably wait until it's cheaper  :smoke:

IMHO it is far too early to commit to buy a game for which no required specs have been published and on the basis of a 17-minute trailer from the campaign mode.

Whilst the Origin pre-order prices look horrific, it'd be worth shopping around nearer the release date.

I don't see access to the beta as a perk, personally.  With so much money being asked of players, is it too much to expect a software house to play-test its wares?!

Yeah I opted in for preorder of bf3, but now that I reflect on it, access to the alpha and beta weren't as useful as I anticipated. Gonna save my money and wait until I see that I have no choice but to move on from BF3.

I think this game, as almost all Battlefield games will be epic. Dice listens to its gamers, and thats how they turn out such awesome games. Graphics shall be amazing as well.. I would recommend anyone to buy it..

I just picked BF3 Premium up recently for 49.99 and now with that I have access to BF4 Beta so I will likely continue BF3 or another game until BF4 atleast offers a discounted version or a Season Pass type deal that's worth buying into. But yes, definitely eventually making the switch.

On a sidenote; I'm also excited for Arma III.

This made me laugh a little. In past years (BF2,BF2142), you could say DICE listens to its gamers. But with the release of BF3, and an all-out dash to compete with CoD, DICE has become a bit of a sell-out. Instead of sticking to its roots with gaming that isn't pull-out-of-the-box playable (meaning you don't jump ingame and instantly get kills), it has de-evolved the kind of content it produces. Instead of catering to the fans that jumped into the massive battlefield environment of predecessors, it plays to the masses that love run and gun style games that require little thought, little teamwork, and even less effort to enjoy the game. It traded in its underground status for dollar bills.

If you're expecting revolutionary advances in gaming technology in the form of flashy and dazzling graphics, you might just get it. But if you're expecting it to separate itself from the likes of CoD and other popularized FPS games and define itself, don't hold your breath. Money talks. And DICE is listening.

That said, I do plan on getting BF4. Despite my thoughts on DICE's future, it's still a better game overall. But I won't be fooled into getting my hopes up like I did when BF3 was announced while I was mowing down charlies in the huey on Valparaiso.
