I bought a boat 9 years ago for $300. A 1971 Starcraft Nova. Cleaned it up and brought it down to get the motor checked out. They called me right up and told me there was a crack in the bottom of the motor. Bummer. It sat it the yard for the next 8 years rotting. I covered it up as best I could. The snow bent the awning poles and bent the windshield. I got sick of looking at it so decided to do something about it. Here is some pics of the progress.

I replaced the billet foam, the floor, the transom, light switch and bilge pump switch, the floor mat, and rebuilt the rear seat.

Cleaned the side panels as best I could.

I got lucky and all the parts came out in pieces that I could scribe.

The VA gave my wife a battery powered lift. 400lb. I used it to take the motor off another boat and place on mine...sweet...

I picked up some liquid billet foam and tried to fill the empty spaces. OMG what a pain in the ass...

the original cover that I am having rebuilt.

Rebuilt the rear seat

I had some traction sticky stuff that I cut out in the shape of a foot and stuck them where the support beam is under the floor so people will know where the best place is to step in.

A lot of the parts have the Sears logo on them. I think this may have been sold at Sears back then.

She looks pretty vintage, but I'll bet she's gonna be sweet when she gets back in the water!  Party boat.

Nice job WiZiD. That is a lot of work but it will be worth it when it's done. It looks like a real classic.

I got a chance to take it out twice. Really windy days. Got it up to 37mph or thats what the gauge said. It was like the carnival ride from hell. Bounce, bounce and more bounce. Cant wait for a glassy day. And no not my eyes...the water.  hehe

Had the top rebuilt. Still waiting for the motor cover to be repainted.

Sometimes it would not start. Had to wiggle the wiring harness.

I had to fix that. What a mess. I repaired the broken and loose ones by soldering them and using shrink tubing to cover. Removed all the duct tape, black tape. I wrapped it with spiral wrap for stereos on the inside and rubber roofing for the wires outside the motor. And glued the seam.
