I've been going to this beach since I was her age and we spent a couple hours sitting in the sun and rock hounding. The beach is made up of tumbled agate gravel rather than sand, and you can find all different colors. She filled her backpack with about 20 pounds for her aquarium. I forgot to grab my Nikon so these are just a couple cell phone pics. Close-up of the gravel. Astronomer, eidolonFIRE and KicknDatAzz 3 Awards

All these were shot from my back deck. They are blended photos (3 different shots of exposure time) I forget what that is called again. Then fused together with a program called Photomatix. What camera? It really depends on the price of the dummy battery for that camera and how big you want the USB brick to be. The little electric bit is pocket change but you have to wait a month to ship from china. The whole kit for my Sony cost about $60 just for the parts.

I haven't gotten into the Coastal Mountains to do any really long exposures. I would have to also buy a cable release for it where I can hold on bulb without me having to hold it (if that makes sense, but to me it does so pthtptpptptptpht). But I am hoping I can get out sometime soon. Once the rainy season stops here.
