Hi idiots and co, wondering if anyone else has had the same problem or knows of a solution. I get a random black screen, this has been happening for over a month now hence my lack of gaming. Some days I can get on and play for hours and other days when I start my games I just crash to a black screen. It will also do this when browsing. I have reinstalled everything on fresh drives in raid0 which is my normal setup and to single disk. I have used a hardware test programme for 5 hours with no issues. Memory tests ok chkdisk is ok, I have updated drivers etc. nothing gets too hot except my head. I took out my sound card which was the last thing I installed. I have used drive sweeper the lot. Help please

The reason for a black screen is loss of video feed from your GPU card (I assume your power indicator stays lit on your monitor). Easy solution is a new or different video cable, try a different port on your GPU, make sure your box is dust free and all fans are working. You can also monitor your GPU temps using a free program...should never run of 80 C, ideally around 40-50 C.

Good luck,

I use the hdmi port to a tv normally but I have tried the dvi to a monitor. The frustrating part is there is the fact it's so random, sometimes straight after start up if I try on the Internet or it can be after 3 hrs or more of gaming. I have even moved card to different PCI sockets. For the first time today I had error message saying display driver stopped responding and has recovered so guessing that's it even though I have updated and rolled back ect

I have tried a separate monitor and cable, mb and gpu firmware updates from asus support. I can't get on cod 4 99% of the time but bf4 is almost impossible. If I do manage to get Ingame on bf4 then I don't have a problem, I never crash from Ingame only the battle log. I have the same problem using Internet for browsing eBay logging to email, xi website, porn ect.
