Tried to get in game tonight but as soon as I start playing my screen freezes and looks like this.
Is it time for a new graphics card?

And yes I still use Vista, don't hate on me, I just have so much stuff on the PC that I can't be bothered backing up and reloading

Yeah GPU, under normal conditions it's fine, I'm using it now to post and it's 100%, only when I put stress on the GPU does it happen

Its your gpu over heating or going bad...try cleaning out your pc (dust) and also roll back your graphic settings (lower them)

mine was failing too and it defaulted by itself to the lowest settings and this what it looked like

It's possible it's getting too hot but if you have installed updates recently roll it back and see if it's better. Some updates have been known to affect cooling fan profiles so if you have an option run them faster manually

I'm not sure it's an overheating issue, this happens seconds after entering a server. Would it be possible for it to overheat so quickly?

I don't think I've updated recently but I'll do a system restore to a few weeks back and see how it goes, thanks guys

re-seat the card. (make sure it's fully powered off and you are static-discharged when pulling it out)

@@Onyx, yes don't forget to inform the next of kin.

It's a GPU issue, I had the same problem with a previous card. I did RMA it, though there were other issues as well.

Edit: When it gives you artifacts like that, generally restarting your PC is the only thing that can fix it. I am assuming you tried re-installing the latest drivers. The graphics performance on Windows 8 is far smoother than Windows 7 or earlier.

Drivers say they are up to date, have restarted a few times, I'm doing a system restore back a few days. If that doesn't work I'll pull the card and clean and reseat it

system restore is stupid... that won't do anything.

Try the re-seat first.

Thanks @@eidolonFIRE I hadn't a screwdriver or anything to hand last night to start pulling things apart do I thought I'd give the restore a try, but as you suggested, it did feck all good.

I'll reserat it after work today,

if that doesn't work can any of you knowledgable folk recoomend a mid range card I could replace it with?

Don't really want to spend more than £200/$300

Appreciate the help

Ok and how would one go about this? I'm pretty noob at this.

I know how to get into device manager and bios etc if that's where I'll find details, or if the only way is to pull the PSU and check the output I should be fine with that.

Don't know what I'm going to do tonight with no MW2!!

@@Onyx don't listen to @@Milky, the name is deceptive. He should be called Shitty, he is just BS, haha.

I would suggest trying one thing at a time to see what difference if any it makes and take it from there.
