Origin account hack attempted

I just got off the phone with the EA support. Apparently someone named "Brummbar5" got into my origin account and changed password, added his phone number and changed my ID and tried to change my email address to his address.

 

Good thing is that Origin has awesome support. I opened a ticket on their website and got a call from them in 5 seconds. They reverted everything back to my original ID. One challenge was that he was (probably Russian) as he had changed the language to Russian and put his Russian phone number so I couldnt do anything online. I just wish I could get his phone number and give this mother fucking hacker a piece of my mind.

As a follow up, my Battlefield game ID is currently set to Gamerboy26. I dont recall setting that up so maybe he made this change as well...

Damn dude... WTF, make sure to setup a difficult password. Seriously, so many hacks coming form Russia, its like this is the only way they like to do things.

it has happend to me to only for cod5WAW.his name is goghost6 ,everytime i tryed to play he was online so he got kicked because they saw 2pc with one code lol.i just keept trying.

 

and so he left my cdcode alone.Because they don't give support to cod5 anymore.Had contact with activision .

 

he is still in my profile list (to bad)

I thought for pwd changes it is sent to the email you gave when registering. The email has a temp one that requires you to go to a page and change. Unless I suppose someone got it, changed that email address, and so confirmations were sent there instead. But that would be the first thing an unauthorized person would do so the real owner wouldnt know about it. And Origin or whatever would simply think the owner changed emails.

Ya, I think he got into my account and started changing the info. He changed the ID, password, password recovery cell phone number and email and language. I got emails about password change and then the email change with the link to revert the email change.

I reverted the email first but then couldnt undo anything else due to language change. Thanks when I called origin support and they took care of everything else.

 

I just feel bad I couldnt get his info. Want to give that bastard something to worry about

Ah thats good. Then they are set up to deal with this kind of thing quickly. Looks good on them for dealing with hackers and thieves. One day I would think there would be secondary authentication like MAC address checks from the computer being logged in from.
