Toyota but both are great trucks. Good luck!!

My buddy in Florida told me to test drive the V6 3.5L Ford Eco boost. He said it is so damn fast. Does anyone have this truck or has anyone drove one?

My wife just replaced her German daily driver 4dr awd turbo charged sedan and wanted a small suv that 'didn't drive like a truck'. Out of the spreadsheet I prepared with 23 vehicles she test drove about half and it came down to the Ford EcoBoost 3.5 powered Edge and the Jeep Cherokee.  The Ford was 500lb heavier and drove like a truck, so it didn't make her cut but was a very good contender.  Some of the others were Infiniti and Lexus, didn't make it.

YACC, the reason the Jeep is 500 pounds lighter than the Ford Escape (by the way, the Ford's EcoBoost engines are the bomb--the 3.5 liter dual turbo-charged V-6 in the F-150 has more horsepower and torque than the Chevy (cough!) 5.0 liter V-8 in its full-sized truck lineup) is because it doesn't have "body-on-frame" construction--it has "uni-body" construction.  I'll take the heavier vehicle any day--the more metal surrounding you and your loved ones, the better.  Just sayin'.  Ayaq

P.S. - Great discussions, by the way, folks.

And the Ford is nearly 1000lbs lighter than my JGC SRT which has more HP with the 6.4l v8 than any of those as well, but it still is big and heavy and drives like a large vehicle, which is why she didn't like it for her DD.

Depends how bad you need 4wd. Consumer reports rates the tacoma much better than the frontier for reliability. The frontier is also dated compared to the new tacoma. If it was my money i would buy the taco and that's coming from a nissan 370z owner.

I am older than most here...I remember when Detroit Steel was junk, but I stayed with them because I remember my grand dads...both missing limbs...one from Japan and the other from Germany...do I hold a grudge...Yes. I will put up my Detroit Democrat (I am a conservative) made truck up against any American Killing Country Truck out there.

If you feel patriotic driving a truck made in America with money going to our passed enemy's....enjoy.

Why punish people today for things other people did in the past. Same goes for slavery, I never did anything to anyone and treat people with respect. I shouldn't be held responsible for what people that are now dead did. The japanese companies at least provide jobs to americans unlike the american company sellouts who make their cars in mexico and canada(im also a conservative). Rant over.

No contest at all, go with the Toyota! Just my own opinion as I have owned Toyota's and still drive a 99 Camry every day.
