OW2 headshot icons

Ok guys and gals. Checked things over again. Sometimes you may see the headshot icon but its not a kill. That would happen if the victim had a combination of armor... that was less than the damage from the shot so it took it all... but still less than is required to deplete health. So not a kill. The headshot icon is still there so there is no question about the location of the hit and that you in fact caused damage to health. In the future in the next update... which mostly just applies existing fixes and some replacement images... I will include a new one that has both the headshot and an armor icon on the lower right.

A different issue, on big maps like farthouse normal sniper rifles wouldnt hit across the map. Game limitation. So extra long distance shots are approximated at that range and accuracy suffers. What you see is not always what you get. This does not apply to rifles with a silencer where extended range does not apply. Normal range only.

That was the armor compromise about headshot instakills. Make the overall value of armor less but it protects against headshots. If it was to go the other way around, with headshot instakills regardless, then armor amount would go up. This way is a good balance that also took into account run and gunners that more often land shots on the torso as opposed to snipers that more often land headshots.

So its a choice for people. Do they want headshot instakills with the price being more armor for the torso and arms/legs. As always, everybody wants both. On both sides. They want the protection and more armor (things like CP awards not withstanding). Or they want instakills and low armor on the torso. The result, the perk becomes overpowered or underpowered. Of course you could get AP and its a moot point.

A minor tweak. Time required to use a health pack for damage and venom has been shortened a bit to make it more effective. Will see how it goes.

Most sniper rifles lave less range than the 44 magnum Pistol ffs. Can you just add a sniper scope to the 44 mag? lol

They are not lies. They are the truth. Its a headshot. But not always an instakill. After all, what would be the point in wearing a helmet.

Ok so the other day jumper was not wearing a helmet (aka body armor). He's a pussy but I don't think that big a pussy. Right @jumper? I got a headshot marker on him while he was behind a wall and I shot his beady little popping head.

Forgot about that. If you shoot at someone through a wall you will get a 1/2 a dozen head shot markers if you fire 2 clips at them. Maybe the wall just lessens the damage alot.

Two short tests for OW2 1.47.

The first is the anti-camp bounty system reenabled. Nothing disabled for the campers such as the usual weapon disabling. But camping, depending on tolerances, will result in kill awards placed on the campers over time. The more you camp, the higher the award. When the bounty is maxed out... meaning huge camper pussies... a kill icon is placed over their heads. Snipers are exempt. Also in sudden death if there is only one player left on that team. The team with more than one player left is still subject to the penalty. Note that both persist through round changes. A bounty or kill icon at the end of round 1 carries over to round 2.

For the UAV defroster, if an enemy has the Hacker perk he fools the defroster into thinking he is a friendly. Fits with the Hacker abilities but since you cant hack a UAV this is a good compromise. The friendly doesnt know an enemy was defrosted by it, including seeing points awarded, unless he sees it happening. Makes the perk more useful and also adds an element of uncertainty. If you are dominating and call in a defroster, will it help the enemy? Then again, running around with Hacker means you dont get Hardline.

An interesting choice.

I dont remember how popular it was back in the day or why or why not. So that would mean asking for specific opinions on how it works. Good points and bad points. To start, I know the campers would hate it. Others would love it. However for this kind of thing to happen you would have to be a really really bad camper.

Though there are some maps where you can't use your killstreak perks because it thinks you aren't on the ground
