Hello,

I have been experiencing a couple of errors when launching CoD4. The first one started just this last weekend. When I try to join our AceMod server I get a message saying that this is for low ping players only and then it kicks me. Budman helped me out with a temporary fix. You simply go to console and type "/reconnect" and  your in. This seemed to just start this last weekend and I never had this issue before. My question is, is there a permanent fix for this?

The second error is an iw3mp.exe error that I consistently get after joining the AceMod server. I join the server, choose my weapon etc and as soon as gameplay begins it kicks me and displays the error "iw3mp.exe". I use a USB headset so plugging in an analog headset it not an option. Is there a way to get rid of this error?

Thanks, Jack (MrCrowe)

To fix the iw3mp error, you can try to rename the file Mssmp3.asi to Mssmp3.bak you find it in the Miles folder.

It worked fo me to fix it

Daniel and dada are both right, this coul be a solution to fix the issue.

Did you recently change from soundcard? buyed a new headset on usb? or added anything with sound like a mixer or anything like that?
"Most" time's this error is related to sound, If you did not buy anything new or added something hard / software to your computer you can start up your computer and try to remove the plugs from your headset out of your computer and plug them back in.

It can also be a problem if you used to plug your headset on the back of the pc and now moved it to the front of your pc. Somewhere it gives an error with your cod. I still get crashes every round swich. CoD is old, and windows is having more problems with it each update. But this are a couple of things including above post you can try to fix it.

I've looked into that one. It won't work because "stereo mix" does not show up in my choices.

I use a USB headset so maybe the problem lies there?

Tried that just now and got kicked with an iw3mp error within seconds. Frustrating.

Mabye you need to check if you cable is long ennaugh to your computer.
If you are wearing your headset on USB then the headset counts as an soundcard because it is a sound device yes? So if your cable is to short and you have your headset on your head and move a little bit arround and you pull a littlebit on the cable it could be possible that the cable gets loose from the connector. Once that happens and it only has to happen just 1mili second of a second, you will recieve an MW3mp error. Mabye the connector not tight ennaugh in the pc, try to put it in another USB port. Mabye the headset is USB 2.0 and you use 3.0 or the other way arround.  Another option to check is your bios. Like a said before, your headset is a soundcard you might have another soundcard on board on your mainbord, If this is so you shud be DISABLE your onboard soundcard within your bios 2 soundcards are most time in conflict.

I have posted this many times but you probably won't want to try it, firstly try all the other "fixes" and if they don't work try this fix...this is the only thing that ever worked for me when i had this problem, firstly i never got the problem after i changed to a USB headset so i don't think that will be it, what i had to do was uninstall game then update my sound drivers then reinstall game back to the new sound drivers...it is a sound problem and that is the only thing that ever worked for me, as i said you might want to try all the other  "fixes" first.

"High Definition Audio Device Ready" is your onboard sound disabled in the bios?

Btw, just an update. The only server this happens on is the AceMod DM server. Just for experimental purposes I jumped on to the other COD4 servers and had no issues.
